To just be fed up and sick of rolling with the punches. Single, disabled, working mum. Left abusive ex husband after dc was born, nearly died this year due to NHS negligence ended up going private which saved my life, no friends and a shit family, I only have dc. Life is passing me by and ex is a controlling psychopath. Just sick of it all.

I’m sorry @Morechampagneplease . How old is your child now?

That’s really young and I can see how it must all seem like a bit of a slog. It will get better. Four was a big turning point here.

It's not the 4 year old, that is a problem - I just feel immense mum guilt even though they are happy, they could be even more so if I was 100%. It's the other crap I'm dealing with. Abused now we aren't together, struggling to keep up with the mortgage, recovering from surgery, no job growth but flexibility as I do it all alone, no social life, no chance of other children or a partner in the next few years, everything is a fortune, worried if I need another operation, the list never ends.

Sorry to hear this - it sounds like you'd benefit from speaking to a professional. Have you spoken to your GP about mental health support? Could you join a local women's group? Have you investigated any charities who may support your disability or disabilities in general?

The NHS is on its knees. Yes charities with the police for mental health want to do group work which isn't for me, then all the GP will do is refer for CBT which again does nothing for me. I was so close to my condition being fatal and none of my GP's, private consultant or NHS consultants realised. Finally, went for another opinion and the consultant was like I need to operate on you now. I had a great psychotherapist at a discounted rate but can't afford that right now.

I hear you op - I think some of us are luckier than others . And for the unlucky ones the curve balls just keep coming.

a few weeks ago I was amazed that I was sitting down, having a cup of tea and life was peaceful enough for me to consider doing some gardening- this is after 2 years of endless shit of one sort or another. Anyway I felt so happy to be feeling that way- then last week I have had another massive curve ball of shit thrown at me and I am back in the bad luck gang. It is hard not to feel badly done to when you see some other people not having these things to deal with. I know everyone says everyone has their crosses to bear - but some people have so many they can’t even stand up!

oh that feels better for a bit of a rant! Thanks op.

Sorry to hear this, I hope it isn't something to awful for you.
You've hit the nail on the head with your post. Since I left my ex husband it has been one thing after another, me bad health, dc issues with their health, job issues, then bought a house, as soon as I moved in abuse from ex and new supply ramped up, then I was critically ill for months and made to feel like I was making it up almost. Then recovering from surgery and now worried about the financial future, may have to sell my home. Just isn't fair and I'm the type to just carry on and not moan about anything but I'm a good person, mother and I think I'm kind but just goes to show the pieces of work never get their comeuppance. Trying to stay upbeat feels hard with all these knocks.

i know what you mean. There is no justice in these things. The only thing I say to myself is that I sleep well at night ( well apart from worrying about money, the kids etc) but I know I am a good person and that I try hard to be a good human being whereas they do carry their badness- even if they never let it show it will eat away at them in time.

I really hope you don’t have to sell your home. I am under considerable financial threat and thought I would have to sell my home - I have started looking at rental and rent is just as expensive as mortgage so not even sure that will solve problems . Friend has told me UC do contribute to mortgage in some circumstances?

I am sorry about your health I guess that must make your resilience harder. I wish you he best of luck for the future op xx

Rent is horrendous, I was thinking to move out of my area near to family in NE but they've been so unsupportive and unkind lately, after I supported them through so much. Trying to not let this change me as a person but it does, although shielding dc from it all.
UC only helps with a loan for the interest charges on your mortgage, I haven't looked into this because to be honest it felt like a lot more hassle and much of a muchness. Please let me know if you find anything else.
