Husband spied on me through bathroom and bedrooms doors in the past and concerned somethings happening again

I’ve never spoken of this, but I caught my husband spying on me one evening in the bathroom through a small hole he had made with a small screw. He denied it at first, but never truly admitted it but apologised, I also discovered he had also made holes in the bedroom door.
we moved on, but one evening he was watching a video, he made the effort to close it as soon as I entered the room, he denied it was anything and made an excuse, I assumed he had been looking at porn. But, he seems to know when I’ve been in a certain draw in our bedroom as he said his clothes get moved (it’s where I keep my sex toy, sorry tmi), he seemed to know I had used it, even though it would have been incredibly hard for him to know. I have started suspecting a camera or listening device in the bedroom, so I have pretended to call a man in the bedroom this morning, only this will confirm my suspicions.
I don’t know what I’m hoping from this post, but I think I needed to write it down.

But now she’s pretending that she is cheating? So regardless of what he thought, presumably he won’t be very pleased to hear her chatting to another man?

Please ignore me, lol. Apologies.

caringcarer · 07/09/2026 12:31

How can you live with a peeping Tom? You should have left him years ago. Why would he need to prep at you anyway? You're his wife surely he must see you naked without needing to peep at you.

He will probably wank all the harder and upload it to wherever for his fellow fetishers to wank over too

LarryForPrimeMinister · 07/09/2026 12:29

Why are you still with him? This is bizarre any normal person would of left.

Pitterpatterruby · 07/09/2026 11:48

He was sorry and realised it was wrong, he said he suspected I was cheating, I used to sometimes spend a while sat on the toilet flicking through things on my phone, but rather than confront me, he made a stupid choice.

He didn't make a stupid choice. He made a rapey decision to spy on you so he could wank over it

prettiestpuppy · 07/09/2026 12:28

This is incredibly disturbing. Don’t pretend you’re cheating who knows what could happen. Get the hell outta there.

fiveyo · 07/09/2026 12:25

OriginalSkang · 07/09/2026 12:21

Its a fetish. He didn't think she was cheating on the toilet

middleagedandinarage · 07/09/2026 12:24

OP this is abuse! I really don't know how you could live with someone knowing they are or have been doing this. Do you have children?
I mean to make a hole in a wall to look at someone in the bathroom is hardly a split second "mistake"

Chocolatecustardcreamsrule · 07/09/2026 12:22

I would seriously consider splitting as soon as possible. Not just because the trust is gone but the psychological impact this could be having on you. As a teen my mum used to hide and sneak next to my room and watch me when I would think I was alone in the house (obviously not sexual but very controlling). It had a huge impact on me and I’m always a bit anxious that I’m being watched when I’m alone. Don’t let him get away with it, he will do it again and it will always be in the back of your mind that you could be being watched.

cuckoolodger · 07/09/2026 12:22

You don’t need to play silly games with him, you need to call the police. You gave no idea what he’s been doing to you while you are asleep OR who he has been sharing footage with. I’m assuming you have heard of Giselle Pellicot? What your DH is doing is ILLEGAL and a horrific rapey invasion of your privacy. He’s putting his own sick twisted perversion above your right to privacy in your own bedroom.

This actually sounds like a potentially dangerous situation.

Are you sure he wouldn't harm you if he thought you were cheating? He is clearly slightly unhinged to spy on you.

Its a fetish. He didn't think she was cheating on the toilet

RowsOfFlowers · 07/09/2026 12:21

This is bizarre

OriginalSkang · 07/09/2026 12:20

I don't understand why you would stay with someone who would do something like this - actively going against your consent. By forgiving him and staying you've given him the perfect opportunity to do it again, and he probably thinks you'd forgive him

Do you not worry that he could have cameras all over? That he is uploading the footage to his fetish sites?

CostcoFanofThree · 07/09/2026 12:19

Call women’s aid.
His reasoning sounds extremely poor, I’m concerned as you seem to believe his excuse re cheating.
I too would be concerned with e-spying devices and uploading videos.
You’re in an incredibly unhealthy situation. What support do you have for leaving?

OriginalSkang · 07/09/2026 12:16

But you know he's doing it? He admitted it before. Why would you need evidence now?

When men have fetishes, they don't just suddenly give them up

An obvious lie and also completely crazy as a way of thinking.

Daisywhatsyouranswer · 07/09/2026 12:15

This is hugely creepy, I don’t know how you can be with someone like that.

seperately, they are drawers, not draws.

Error404FucksNotFound · 07/09/2026 12:13

Is it wise or safe to make him think you are cheating on him?

SlightlyTerrifiedButPolite · 07/09/2026 12:13

Omg. This happened to a friend of mine. Her DP had a voyeurism fetish. Turned out he had gotten into trouble for recording their housekeeper as a teenager and his friends at university (he invited them to stay and set up cameras in the room)

Is your sex life normal and active? My friend’s sex life really dried up quickly. He spent an inordinate amount of money on drones. With hindsight she thought he probably just didn’t get aroused by normal sex / it was a true fetish in that sense

She broke up after 2.5 years when she found out about his history, he confessed one night when drunk

This is my only point of reference but I wonder if he might have a similar fetish

Happyjoe · 07/09/2026 12:12

Is he controlling in any other aspects of your life?

But no, I couldn't live with someone like this, I would be paranoid and not be able to relax in my own home, let alone him being a.. pervert for want of a better word.

TFImBackIn · 07/09/2026 12:09

Why are you believing his ridiculous stories, OP?

Do you have any children living in the house? If so, you do realise he'll be looking at them too, don't you?

Sugargliderwombat · 07/09/2026 12:04

I think if you think he could be the kind of person that could do that, it doesn't really matter if he has. You should leave either way

YorksMa · 07/09/2026 11:57

Let's hope spying on you is "all" he is doing. This kind of peeping Tom behaviour is how a lot of serial rapists (and worse) get started. He may well be uploading videos of you to the net too or sharing them in another way. Why on earth are you still with him? He's a predator.

Naurrr · 07/09/2026 11:57

This is not a safe man to be around. Speak to women's aid. Please say there's no children in the house?
