Husband spied on me through bathroom and bedrooms doors in the past and concerned somethings happening again

I’ve never spoken of this, but I caught my husband spying on me one evening in the bathroom through a small hole he had made with a small screw. He denied it at first, but never truly admitted it but apologised, I also discovered he had also made holes in the bedroom door.
we moved on, but one evening he was watching a video, he made the effort to close it as soon as I entered the room, he denied it was anything and made an excuse, I assumed he had been looking at porn. But, he seems to know when I’ve been in a certain draw in our bedroom as he said his clothes get moved (it’s where I keep my sex toy, sorry tmi), he seemed to know I had used it, even though it would have been incredibly hard for him to know. I have started suspecting a camera or listening device in the bedroom, so I have pretended to call a man in the bedroom this morning, only this will confirm my suspicions.
I don’t know what I’m hoping from this post, but I think I needed to write it down.

So you’re okay with him videoing you without your consent? Is he the kind of man that would do revenge porn? Seems like a big risk to me.

Radioheads · 07/09/2026 13:29

Speak to Women's aid because that has all the hallmarks of an abusive relationship.
I don't believe it is legal to film you without your consent in your home.

ooeygooeychewy · 07/09/2026 13:28

I'd be slightly worried that if he believes you're cheating it could encourage a worse, more damaging (or perhaps even dangerous) reaction from him. I understand the impulse to want proof, but this doesn't seem like the best way of going about it.

Why do you keep your sex toy in his drawer @Pitterpatterruby ?
Do you want him to know that you have been using it?

It seems like a very convenient explanation for him finding it so easily, certainly…

Pigglywigglywoos · 07/09/2026 13:26

That would be the end for me. I'd never feel safe again. If you can't trust your life partner, it's game over as far as I'm concerned.

That is so unbelievably creepy.
I cannot imagine getting over it and now thinking he has cameras hidden.
Wow!

Spying aside. why is YOUR toy in HIS drawer?

That’s an excellent question 🧐

Pallisers · 07/09/2026 13:05

Stop pretending to make phone calls and find someone who can come in and sweep your house for cameras and listening devices.

The first incident is incredibly disturbing. His excuse is just that a made up excuse to make his pervy actions seem normal. They are not. He didn't think you were cheating. he wanted to spy on you in private moments when you were unaware of him - that was the thrill - seeing you on the toilet unaware of him. Given we live in 2026 it is highly unlikely that his perversion doesn't include cameras. And I wouldn't be surprised if he is sharing footage. Actually I'd bet on it.

So what if he denies it. you know the truth. just get out of this toxic relationship.

Keeptoiletssafe · 07/09/2026 13:02

Hi OP
I don’t want to make you paranoid but considering he has form, may be useful to read this:

Pitterpatterruby · 07/09/2026 11:42

No I’ve decided to do something that will confirm any suspicions I have, if I ask him he could deny it, doing what I’ve done will confirm if he is actively watching/listening.
I actually looked online and this was advice that was given to others.

But you already know he’s capable of this, and has done so in the past.

Naurrr · 07/09/2026 12:58

I don't think it's appropriate to ask a victim of voyeurism about her sex toy usage? @RandomUserName96 Confused

RandomUserName96 · 07/09/2026 12:54

If this is genuine, why not keep your toys in a different drawer? Like one without his stuff in, seen if he still knows. Though how often are you using them/how long has he been calling you out for you to notice a pattern??

Can you access whatever device he was watching the video on?

Naurrr · 07/09/2026 12:50

He's already committed an offence, see the link below, offenders like this often go on to commit more crimes.

RigsbysCat · 07/09/2026 12:46

OP I don't think in your position I'd be playing games trying to catch out your husband. I have no idea how you managed to get past the previous gross invasions of your privacy.

If you have suspicions that he is back to his old tricks (or indeed ever stopped in the first place) then you need to have it out with him and also thoroughly search your home for any spying devices - get help with this if you can. If you find anything surely this needs to be the end?

As others have said he may well be sharing footage of you online with fellow weirdos. Time for a very frank discussion and please don't be fobbed off this time.

TheAmberKoala · 07/09/2026 12:46

If hes filming you in your home without your consent, thats very illegal.

SirenScream · 07/09/2026 12:45

He will be sharing it online to get validation from other revolting men.

Sortingmyself · 07/09/2026 12:40

YorksMa · 07/09/2026 11:57

Let's hope spying on you is "all" he is doing. This kind of peeping Tom behaviour is how a lot of serial rapists (and worse) get started. He may well be uploading videos of you to the net too or sharing them in another way. Why on earth are you still with him? He's a predator.

agree.

the drugging and raping of partners/wives is becoming more prevalent too.

These sick bastards aren't happy with 'just' a spyhole, so it will escalate...

Hope you don't have daughters living in your home!

Read what the OP has actually said 🙄

See post above yours.

This is incredibly disturbing. Don’t pretend you’re cheating who knows what could happen. Get the hell outta there.

Where does she say she was cheating? Edited - just read, apologies.
