WTF just happened?

Haven't been feeling well for a few days, have had a sickness bug and haven't been able to keep much down.
Sitting on my laptop in bed watching YouTube just now and all of a sudden with no warning, my eyesight went totally black, my head was pounding, I felt warm all over and my arms were tingling. It went within 10 seconds or so but I genuinely was terrified for those 10 seconds.
Something to worry about or just related to being dehydrated etc?

How long have you had sickness for?
If you have had just bile for a couple of days, what have you been drinking?

Regardless of the 'black out'
Sounds like you need some iv fluids
Your kidneys maybe starting to struggle / already have kidney injury

Still waiting on a call, I am hoping it’s just dehydration related as have been vomiting bile for the last couple of days (!) worst sickness I have had in a long time.
DH apparently utterly unconcerned and snoring away next to me 🙄

I had this in the past. I went to the A&E, I'm not in the UK, and it was a bad case of dehydration. I hope you get answers soon.

I had something very similiar happen to me a few months ago, vision went, arms tingling and the really worrying thing was my skin felt like it was on fire, and I mean on fire, it was the most awful stinging sensation! I had to lye down until it went away 10 mins or so later, I was trembling for a while. No idea what happened.

I’ve had migraines like that but it would also be something like a stroke too so it does need to be taken seriously.

A colleague of mine had this happen to her and it turned out to a type of stroke. I’m not saying that’s what happened to you, but I think you need medical attention sooner rather than later. Hope you’re okay x

Probably a good idea to get yourself ready for a trip to A&E while you’re waiting for a call back, based on @Namechangedforspooky’s advice.

This happened to soneone i know, it was due to a blood clot in carotid artery.

I know someone who had episodes like this they thought she had epilepsy and was put on meds. But it was non epileptic seizures so she was taken off the meds and told that street is usually the trigger. Hope you get to the bottom of the cause.

I don’t know anything about TIA etc but if it’s not that then I’d say a fainting attack. If there was any noise at the time did it fade into the distance? Usually when I feel faint all the sounds fade too. I also feel hot and nauseous.

Especially as tingling was both arms.
You still need to be checked. They will need to do blood sugar, lying standing blood pressure and a neuro exam, plus maybe bloods or urine depending on what they think.

A&E dr of many years here. This is a common reason to come to A&E and usually doesn’t have a worrying outcome!

This happened to me, when I was out walking the dog, I had suffered from diarrhea for a week, but thought I was recovered. My blood pressure had dropped very low because of dehydration. I had to get a passerby to call an ambulance, and I managed to call my son to come for the poor dog! I was on a drip for 12 hours. The doctor said it was impossible to replace enough fluid just by drinking, when you have a upset stomach like that for longer than a couple of days.

It sounds exactly like when I had a TIA. You need to go to the hospital. Phone 111 back and explain more clearly what happened. Someone will need to drive you. Take, money, phone and I’d change into a tracksuit or dog clothing you can sleep in. Treated you should be fine, but it is a warning sign for more damaging stroke. Get checked and medicated.

Have you Googled near-syncope episode (presyncope)?

Pretty much every time I stand up, I almost faint and black out (NHS have no clue what to do with me so they do nothing, but that's another story).

Look it up. You also definitely need to be seen by a doctor as none of us here know what this is for sure .

Could be a panic attack, especially the tingling arms.
But best to get checked out.
