Worrying neighbour

hello. Not sure if I’ve chose the right topic for this wasn’t sure what to use for the situation but need someone’s advice. Basically around 5 months ago we. Had a family move on to our street ( what I thought was a family of just 5 brothers) turns out 4 of them are carers to one of the men. One particular man that lives there has shouted very violently at me and my child on a few occasions he has knocked down his next door neighbours fence through anger and shouts at them as well . It turns out this man has severe mental health I am not judging but the street as always been family’s it’s housing association for context and anyone can really move in . The other day there was police at there home for hours . It feels very unsettling as I don’t know what this person is capable of and is clearly dangerous due to his mental health nothing has actually happened but neighbours are saying they feel unsettled. Do I call the housing association or 111 about this? I do not want to speak to these people directly as you don’t know what people are capable of and don’t know the actually situation very well at all don’t know there background it’s just very unsettling as children live on the street and he is clearly unpredictable.

If this man is on a 4-1 supervision then yes he is mentally ill and possibly a danger to himself and others
Who knows ?
Thank goodness he has the correct care package in place to keep him and others safe ?
If supervised appropriately I’m not sure what you think could happen ? Shouting and being angry is most likely is coping mechanism to frustration… too many variables within MH conditions to be certain ..
Poor thing
However I do also appreciate that this can feel unsettling in a previously quiet nice area .

Yes, call the housing association. They won’t be able disclose any personal information to you about his circumstances, but your concerns will prompt a review of his care package to check he is safe himself and not a danger to his neighbours/community.

Yes it is good he has the care package however it doesn’t seem completely controlled if he is kicking peoples fences in and on one occasion shouting and trying to climb over someone’s fence . I appreciate the carers can do all they can but it just doesn’t seem the right place for this person if that makes sense my dad had schizophrenia so I do have an understanding of how complexed mental health can be. Would you advise I mention this to the housing association? I am not overly affected by this but it does worry me if I’m honest if anything was to get out of control and with kids around

I would report it to the housing association. They may not do anything straight away, but it will be logged and may help to build up a picture if further incidents are reported. It's not stirring or being difficult - it's a legitimate concern. Others may have reported it already.

I'm an HA tenant myself. I would be making a report if it was me. Just so they had a note of what's going on and your concerns.

Report it so they know there is concerns as if you say nothing they just won't know.

the 4:1 care will come from an organisation. Do you know who this is? Speaking to one of the carers might be helpful. They are unlikely to be aggressive given it’s a job & not personal.

My mum went round to the house today to try get a clearer picture of the set up . one of the carers had answered the door and my mum explained to them that the man has shouted at me and my son aggressively and other neighbours and about the disturbances and to see if they keep some sort note of when he does it as unfortunately when he did shout at me and my son this man was on his own not with a carer. The carer did clarify that he cares for him and just asked my mum what her name was they didn’t talk for long however the man with the illness did hear my mum and was stood giving her an unsettling look in the background so we now feel a bit worried. We do have suspicions on these carers and if it’s a proper set up as on a few occasions I have seen the carers enter the home with bottles of alcohol could any one clarify if that sounds right for live in carers? They don’t wear a uniform of any sort they just look casual leading us to believe at first it was a bunch of brothers that lived there something just feels off but. I may be wrong. It’s just unsettling when the street has always been a very quite safe street.

I would definitely report to housing association even if it’s to add the report to the file. I would not feel comfortable with this set up. I would seek advice from the housing association even council. He must be a danger to himself and others with 4 live in carers!

going to call the housing association tomorrow morning to tell them all this and to also clarify that they are aware There’s like 4 carers in there with him because I don’t think he housing association

This could be cuckooing. Sounds a bit of an odd setup. Do people usually have four live-in carers? Definitely report to your HA.

Very worrying situation. Absolutely report v to the HA and call police if you are abused verbally.

Hello thank you for your comments the only reasons that leads me away from cuckooing is there is a woman that was going round to the home presenting her self as the mother of the ill man. She spoke to my mum, but blanked and ignored all other neighbours. She asked my mum to tell her if there’s any bother at the house? She said she checks on the house hold daily which was right she was. However haven’t seen her for 2 weeks . When the police was at their home for hours the police did door knocks on all neighbours asking who lives there , when we last saw them etc I told them around 5 men live there . The police did seem confused about this and asked for more details? I then did say if you’re struggling to get. Hold of the men you could try contact the mum and she’s here daily checking in I don’t know just a strange situation. Thanks for you comments we are calling housing association tomorrow
