Lindsay Clancy, what do we all think? Pure evil or mentally ill?

If it was mental illness, it was a strangely carefully planned case of loss of control, with the unusual ability to talk calmly to her husband in the middle of the murders and know she shouldn’t tell him what she was doing. I find it very hard to understand how people can read the details and still believe she didn’t chose to murder her poor children.

Whereas I find it hard to read the details and conclude that this tragedy was caused by anything but mental illness and a lack of appropriate support.

I haven’t followed the details of this case, other than to be appalled at the disgraceful way such a devastating tragedy has been turned into a media circus.

Something very similar happened to a family that I know personally. The mother was not prosecuted but was treated as a mentally ill person. The family eventually reunited and her surviving child is subject to strong safeguarding oversight.

Obviously mental illness? What a weird question.

Not necessarily, plenty of people are saying that mental illness is being used as an excuse and that she planned it carefully before committing the act. That isn’t my thoughts, but many others think that.

Mentally ill of course and severely let down by the professionals .

I think the same but many of my friends disagree
