What shoes?

Hello,
Off out on Friday evening with some colleagues and plan to wear this. Will be going a few bars. Not feeling great about myself at the minute and ChatGPT has told me the dress does nothing for my shape but unfortunately, I just have no waist at the minute due to weight gain (perimenopause 😩) so please no comments about how it does nothing for my figure as maxi dresses are the only thing I feel comfortable in right now 😭
Anyway, what shoes would you wear? Black flat sandals, black heeled sandals, trainers? I have no gold shoes.
Does the outfit look ok overall? I will also be wearing a bracelet that matches the necklace.

All of the options would be fine. Consider time on your feet/walking. For your waist, consider a body shaper slip to smooth you out.

Wear whatever you like and will be most happy and comfortable in. Nobody will be looking at your feet! Also ChatGPT doesn't have feet or any concept of what it's like to wear shoes, so it can shut the hell up!

Any of these outfits are fine for an evening in Manchester City centre. In those muggy weather I’d personally go for the maxi, with the chunky sandals or block heels, but that’s just as I prefer a heel, flat sandals would be fine too. No idea what people are going on about it being too dressed up, that’s nonsense, it’s a fairly casual and nice maxi, perfect for the occasion, a nice balance as you will have some people in jeans and trainers, as well as some very dressed up in heels and mini dresses etc in matchester city centre. The comments about this being ‘too dressy even in London’ - up north is totally different and a mixed bag, some people absolutely get very dressed up, others don’t. Don’t overthink it honestly, wear whatever you want, personally I always feel better in something new so I’d do the dress!

Honestly OP wear whichever you yourself prefer. I like to dress in what makes me happy and being overdressed doesn’t concern me hugely. I tend to go very low key with my shoes, bags and makeup so don’t look like I’m going to a garden party anyway. I think a dress can easily be dressed up or down as can denim so go with whatever you love and makes you feel good.

I lived just outside of the city centre for years and no one bats an eyelid at what people are wearing. Manchester is so diverse with lots of fancier and dressier places, you’ve got Gay Village, NQ, Spinningfields, Deansgate/Peter Street.

Unless she’s going to 42’s or a student dive bar in NQ she won’t look silly or overdressed anywhere.

Agree, that dress is IMO on the slightly more casual side anyway. Been out loads in Manchester in the past, in various types of bars & clubs, & I would go with the dress.

Personally I'd wear black heeled ankle boots with it but I appreciate it might be too warm for that. Not sure what the weather is like in Manchester.

The bodysuit looks as if it's too short for you. It looks as if it's had to be stretched and pulled down hard to fasten.

The dress is better but wear with the clompiest sandals you have to tone down the prettiness/dressing upness. No delicate heels or ballet pumps.

What about asking someone who you think is stylish, or one of your friends/colleagues who's also going along?

If I was feeling uncertain & had posted here for advice, I think the conflicting opinions would persuade me to cancel & stay in!!

(Like @TealReader & @PhaedraTwo , I would always veer towards over- rather than underdressed if I wasn't sure what others would be wearing. I'd also go with "punking up" something delicate or pretty, so would go with chunky-ish sandals with the dress.)
