Santa ponsa - anyone been?

I’ve booked an AI week in Santa ponsa , lovely hotel with good TA reviews and it’s fairly short transfers from airport , but then a colleague at work told me Santa ponsa is grim. Pretty sure we won’t venture far from hotel anyway as it’s a week to chill at end of season but has anyone been and is it really that awful?

Hated it. Wouldn’t go back.

We’ve been but we mainly stayed at the hotel and went to the beach a coupon of times. I don’t remember it being awful the hotel was good , beach fine but we didn’t really venture out.
Hope it works out ok 👌

We stayed at the pirates village

There is def a grim / British pub part so hopefully your hotel isn’t there? We stayed at a lovely hotel in the nicer part but found it was a bit limited for nice bars for post dinner drinks. If you are AI and going for chill out pool days and not too fussed about the resort then you should be ok. I went to the beach a few late afternoons and enjoyed it

Same , enjoyed the hotel we stayed at. But didn’t particularly like the resort. Also it was quite hilly where we were staying. The main square looked very dated.

Lovely beach. Not a lot else but ok for a week in a nice hotel. I thought it was more geared towards younger people.

It’s a bit Brits abroad. The Island has really nice parts though so you could easily hire a car and get out and explore the nicer parts

Yep it’s Brit’s abroad. Just back from 5 days in PalmaNova and we visited Santa Ponsa one night. Some ok places to eat, beach looked ok, but Irish and English pubs everywhere.
If you’re staying in AI maybe you won’t need to go out much.
All the shops are selling the same tat all over the island, fake designer bags and purses.

It’s a fairly standard ‘working class Brits abroad’ seaside town. Not very Spanish. The beach is decent. When I went it was full of Irish people in GAA kits.

Irish Benidorm.
