So I’m 35, the last….id say 5-6 months I’ve been getting severe PMT to the point where I get really angry, snappy and irritable the week before I’m due on, then when I am on I feel sad, down and very tearful and have weird thoughts. I explained to the doctors this and that it’s only when I am due on but they have said about upping my anti depressants? I’m not depressed it’s only when I’m due on and I am on that I feel this way, it’s PMT but severe. I explained that I’ve never had this before and that it’s strange and how I get bad stabbing like pains in my my tubes also when I ovulate and I am due on and that I’ve started getting dark hairs round my top lip. All I was told was that it’s due to my age (really pisses me off!!) and that our bodies change as we get older. For me this is not normal and I’ve never suffered like I do now. It’s been like this since I had my last child in 2023. I just keep getting fobbed of and told it’s my age but I don’t think it is, I have however got a scan today internal vaginal one as they are going to check everything due to a month ago having an issue with the copper coil which has now changed. It just really annoys me that women’s health is not taken seriously when we know something isn’t right.
Would anyone else call this a fob off? Also if the scan comes back today as normal then what am I meant to do next? I’ve had bloods done and they are fine too. She also said that she could put me on the combination pill to see if that helps but I’ve tried various pills and they just in the past made me worse.
