Can I withdraw and resubmit a job application before deadline?

I've applied for a job, but only realised AFTER I pressed submit, that I made a howling error in my supporting statement

I can find how to withdraw an application

The deadline is a few days' time

Can I re-apply for the same position AFTER I have withdrawn the 'faulty' application?

Does anyone know?

Can anyone reply before the end of tomorrow?

Thank you

Wasn't able to contact the person in the ad before the deadline

I'll see how it goes.

Be careful before you withdraw the application on the website. The jobs site where I work won’t allow you to apply for the same post for 30 days afterwards if you withdraw an application. I would ask advice from the person given as contact for the role.

You might be able to log back into your application and update it. If you can't update, it's possible that status of it has changed ( i.e 'in review'). You could email the recruitment team and ask them to update your application.

Good luck! It's horrible when this happens but as someone who has been involved in hiring, we generally want the best person, and understand applications can sometimes need amendments. Unless of course you bragged about your attention to detail 😉

i would have thought so. But I guess it depends on the platform. To be safe and make sure there’s no confusion might be better to withdraw. Then submit from a different account / email?
