Children about to meet exH’s girlfriend…

We sold the family home and divorced 9 months ago. Children have been getting used to the new routine (50/50 with each parent). ExH is about to introduce his girlfriend (together 11 months) to them. They are 10 and 12. Any tips or advice? I don’t feel anything much about this but it’s definitely been playing on my mind. I assume he sees a future with the OW then.

I think context is really important here. You have referred to her as the OW but they have only been together 11 months. And your divorce was finalised 9 months ago? The timeline doesn’t quite fit.

If she was the reason why your marriage broke down and the dc know this, then there is a whole lot to discuss and think about.

If not, and the split was amicable, then it is a different ball game. It’s difficult to give advice without knowing the context really.

Sounds tough, OP. I can hear there's still feelings there. Be kind to yourself.

That last sentence was telling. Was she an AP or OW in the fact you were legally married, albeit separated, when they got together?

Unless they ask questions or comment themselves not sure why the need to mention anything

Just be as chilled as you can about it
Dont let the children think you feel a certain way, dont ask them leading questions.
