SIL is visiting and has asked why MM felt she had to wear beige to public events in the early days of her marriage? I think the Royal Ladies usually try to wear different colours when they are appearing with each other at an event (not sure how they organise this) but beige isn't really a royal colour, is it?

Would appreciate any answers from you knowledge PP's. Thanks in advance

MM said she decided to wear beige because Royal women co-ordinate the colour of their clothing through their staff. MM was talking nonsense. Occasionally she wore beige to public events. Just off the top of my head, she also wore navy, black, yellow, grey, green, red and pink. Ironically, she has worn a lot of beige since leaving the UK.

She dresses almost exclusively in black, white, navy or beige in CA, but as a royal she very rarely did. She's full of shit, but we all know that.

The only time I could remember her wearing beige was when she was at Sandringham Church on Christmas Day and she wore a hat which caused some unfortunate comparisons with a cowpat IIRC

I don't think MM ever picked up on the subtleties of the different events though

@gruntley123 I was in East Anglia. Though I’ve now remembered that some classes did French and some German. Mine did French, but my mum paid for me to learn German from a neighbour. I liked languages.

She was probably advised that on some of the bigger occasions the senior women collaborate on the colours worn. With the Queen obviously being the first inform everyone.

That way everyone stands out on the balcony or carriages etc individually.

I don’t think Meghan likes being told
what to do so if there was an occasion where she was told the Queen’s wearing yellow, Camilla white and the DoC will be in blue then she’s conflated that in her mind to mean she was never allowed to have her own choice.

It was another of her fibs that she wanted Americans to believe - and Oprah certainly lapped it up

I think she disliked the fact that the Queen got first dibs on colour and the others were expected to coordinate. But she refused to follow dress codes anyway

like the Commonwealth Service where the dress code was red, white and blue and she turned up in goblin green
or Louis' christening where the dress code was blues and creams and Meghan turned up in drab olive

So here is a very small selection of all of those beige outfits she was forced to wear 🙄

What we know about Meghan is that she is a marvel. She is the only person in England to have been married in her garden without witnesses. She travelled outside the UK without a passport, just like Queen Elizabeth II. She persuaded a hospital in the US to allow her to go home with the 'products' of her miscarriage so she could bury them in her garden. Another hospital in the US let her go home a few short hours after having an epidural. I am in awe.
