70s! Lol
Christmas time is never ever happy is it ! Always a drama or four.
Archie was an absolute tool, but good fun.

I was saying to DD today "Who is going to die this Christmas"?
As soon as someone says "This'll be the best Christmas evah " then we know they'll be doomed Grin

So Archie bequeathed Roxy £3,000,000? That’s not something I remember because wasn’t she always skint?

Was the money just for Roxy ? Did he cut Ronnie out ?
That would be the sort of thing he'd have done .

Roxy bought a jeep and a puppy (Albert ) she'd have had loads of advice , wanted or otherwise from her family about the cash

Archie was a good villain. Him and Janine together were so toxic ! He threw her out with the rubbish eventually. They have some evil ones in EE

That was a brilliant Christmas Day episode when Archie set up a game for Janine in the Square . She was rattling on about how her dad made Christmas so special and how she was such a Daddy's Girl and she loved Christmas . She must've had a very selective memory as all the Christmases had her sulking or bickering or a face that would curdle milk.
Archie set up some clues , she ran about the Square in her Santa Underwear and Robe , squealing with delight , while Archie looked on indulgantly .
Then gave her a one way ticket to The Back of Beyond and a 5p (or similar) and threw her sprawling onto the street .

Didn’t Roxy and Ronnie go head to head to buy a property once or Roxy lost a lot of money once ?
Something happened

Might be better to have the money at 21. She’d have ditched Craig by then ; or he had been killed off.

Alucard55 · 18/10/2026 16:12

It says 21st birthday but plot reasons.

Wow! 100,000 k at 18 and a huge deposit for a flat or house. Lucky Amy via her horrible grandad.

Shellingbynight · 18/10/2026 16:09

Vanessa and Glenda were two more characters I never really liked, they didn't quite work although I do like Glynis Barber. Archie was a great villain.

Sean only really has a connection with the Slaters doesn't he. Stacey effectively owns the Vic as she paid the deposit, and Kat and Alfie are falling apart.

It is odd that he is returning before Stacey, but Lacey is dancing. And Wadey also likes these weird returns where characters show up for a week then disappear again (Zoe, Max, now Stacey). I find it really annoying, it ruins the momentum.

From Wikipedia. Archies will.

Glenda probs did go with Philosophers stone ! Most women do when Phil is interested in them.
He was with Dawn swann for months and they had an affair. She was gorgeous too. He has had a lot of action over the years

the80sweregreat · 18/10/2026 15:21

Vanessa Gold! What a name .
She was funny and only ate food and drunk water that didn’t stain the white outfits. No wonder she was so slim.

Alucard55 · 18/10/2026 15:09

Glenda was very attractive didn't she shag the Phil-osopher's stone?

Alucard55 · 18/10/2026 15:08

the80sweregreat · 18/10/2026 14:46

Vanessa was the one who wore white a lot. A bit like a poundshop Geri Halliwell. Worse colour ever if you can’t drink tea without spilling it.

Edited

Vanessa Gold was it? I remember all the white no spaghetti Bolognese for her!

the80sweregreat · 18/10/2026 15:07

I also liked Charlie cotton who had Matthew with Ronnie. He is a musician irl. Wasn’t in it that long
Cottons returning would be fun or maybe Heather’s !/ boy ( George ) to avenge ‘ev’s death !

the80sweregreat · 18/10/2026 14:57

Ronnie had a bad time of it as a child / teen. Who’d be a soapy character eh

the80sweregreat · 18/10/2026 14:56

Dh loved Ronnie ! I always thought she was good and Roxy the mad one , but not as ditzy as Gemma.
Roxy nearly married Alfie once.
did she marry Sean ? Not sure

Alucard55 · 18/10/2026 13:01

Didn't Archie and Glenda have another son?

Can someone explain to me why Sean will care about Amy? I get he thought he was her dad but that was 100 years ago.

Maybe, he likes to be the hero or possibly seeing Roxy in Amy. He was broken when he realised that Amy wasn’t his.,

EmeraldShamrock000 · 18/10/2026 14:53

the80sweregreat · 18/10/2026 13:03

Can’t remember another son ? No idea
thought it was only R and R ?
my memory isn’t reliable though

Remember when they went to find her as she’d left them as children. I recall the brother now. I don’t think he was in it for long.
Eastenders need more characters leaving in a taxi, not a coffin.
Ronnie played some great storylines. The baby dying, Danielle getting knocked down.

the80sweregreat · 18/10/2026 14:52

Glynis Barber played Glenda.
She was good in it but then I liked Archie , who Ned reminds me of a bit too.

the80sweregreat · 18/10/2026 14:43

I do vaguely remember Glenda being a pain, but at least she had good dress sense and didn’t look like Rose !
