Skirt https://www.marksandspencer.com/faux-leather-midi-wrap-skirt/p/clp61268242?color=Black&intid=mobileapppdpshare
Fit is amazing
feel amazing
looks really expensive.

But if I wore it with black tights, would it look weird ? if I wore it with knee boots would it break up the whole split thing so I think I have to work with heels and then what on my legs?

Skin tone tights.

And then obviously, elbow length leather gloves, sunglasses and a visible bra. Really OP the photo of the model is showing you exactly what's needed here 😂

Grin Grin

What I don't like it with is a white shirt, ruins the look

HowHaveYouFoundThis · 24/10/2026 14:08

Hey cod nice to see you back, I think let the skirt be the star of the show so everything else plain, nude tights, black stilletos and fitted bodysuit tight top

OOH KIWI.
she's wearing if before its even cold. That's thrilling.

She was! And she was very quick to share that it was ‘just’ from M&S 😊

iCod · 24/10/2026 08:15

@Holidaymodeon yeah, they sound unusual

I have a very similar skirt , I wear it with everything depending on the occasion including chunky thigh boots, patent dm Chelsea Boots, dm shoes, low heeled booties, smart black trainer if out walking , so a variety of tights, sheet, opaque, ankle socks, knee socks, over the knee socks, no socks etc

I have a very specific tight recommendation, but please trust me!

Wolford Neon 40 in black - believe me, you will never go back as they really make your legs look amazing. They’re expensive but last ages and you can pick them up on vinted for less.

Oh wow, these take me back! When I first started work - early 90s - I wore these all the time. I dread to think how much they are now! - They were always in a different league, and at the time I thought they were worth the high price.

Do it Cod!

iCod · 23/10/2026 19:05

Yes, this is the second time they have been recommended. I'm going to order them.

How about sheer, black but with a seam at the back - as the skirt is plain from behind?

Ooh la LA brandied.

Can I be a WAF or a FANY and be in love with a Battle of Britain pilot? ;)

I used to work with somebody who wore light grey tights. I always thought that it looked like her legs were rotting.

Another one for black fishnets, either really small gauge, or bigger than usual. Can also (the larger gauge) be worn over sheer black tights to add texture and look a bit edgier.

A memory about black fishnet tights.
I had to work in them long ago (it was part of the uniform in a fancy night club). They can be murder on your feet if you are doing a lot of standing or walking.

Intheswing · 23/10/2026 12:00

I have a similar skirt and wear sheer black tights and heels tempted to try stockings 🥰

Superscientist · 23/10/2026 10:26

Colourful tights or if you aren't that brave light grey

PineappleSunrise · 23/10/2026 08:32

I’m really enjoying the return of the knee-length pencil skirt. It does challenge some of the winter mini & midi skirt habits I’ve developed, though! I’m not wearing knee length with thick black tights & knee boots, or chunky ankle boots.

For general daywear, I’d wear sheer tights (black or whatever nude matches your skin tone) and a low slouchy ankle boot or low heel with a pointed toe. This length seems to need a bit of skin showing, and a bit of waist shape in the top/jacket.

For nights out I’d get some of the floral lace tights that are popping up right now. I’ve not fancied those for quite some time, but they seem right with that sort of skirt!

Docs. But I wear docs with everything. So maybe not.

Fishnet or patterned tights.

With the socks it would be just right for a flight - as an alternative to comfy trousers/leggings. The folds would be good for making the seat belt comfortable and the polyurethane is easy to clean with wet wipes. 😉

Not sure about flying, the material can make you sweat.

OneTake · 22/10/2026 14:09

Sheer tights would work
