Esp as it will be peanuts in the January sales

It's nuts now.

I was thinking parents evening too- I really hope we’re not all wearing the same thing!! Thanks op!! 😂

WildFatball · Yesterday 18:19

That is fucking awful

quantumbutterfly · Yesterday 18:21

Pretty. If it can survive a mixed machine wash & the tumble dryer I might be interested. My wardrobe operates on a natural selection basis.

Vicliz24 · Yesterday 18:24

The reviews have worn it as a dress

I would love a Darwinian laundry symbol on the care label of clothes
🦖?

pictoosh · Yesterday 18:29

What a stupid, pointless item. It looks rubbish layered over those clothes. It's the sort of thing that gets worn once and tossed away.
I'd undoubtedly tear it on the first outing.

Can't think of any reason to buy this. It's just landfill. In my personal opinion.

damemaggiescurledupperlip · Yesterday 18:30

One of the reviewers says she wears it over a jumpsuit. She must have a cast iron bladder

Dabralor · Yesterday 18:33

Are you sure it’s a dress and not the cellophane wrapper that the clothes are wrapped in on the lorry?

PetulaDark · Yesterday 18:33

M&S has gone a bit weird lately, I keep getting ads in my Reddit feed and the clothes seem exclusively aimed at 20 year olds. Unless my algorithms gone wrong?

Pineneedlesincarpet · Yesterday 18:43

I think I'd look great in this. Maybe to a lunch with the inlaws. It looks like it flatters the over 50s figure and I'd probably even go commando to avoid VPL. Or even VP. Why not? M&S are really nailing it these days.

You mustn't help like this again..maybe you can help with some minor things , or manky things like CPR or ringing 999,but the professionals don't just lift people up, they have the equipment to do it safely. My dad started falling, the alarm people would come out with the proper equipment and get him up safely and do a simple triage to see if we needed to call the ambulance or the doc. I did get a bit cross with my brother, who being big and strong could get him up, but he never got checked over at all, and honestly the doc needs to have on record what's been happening, do they need a change in medication perhaps, extra help or the district nurse visiting ( or even put on the end of life support, whereby we could ring up the specialist team at any time of the day or night and ask questions, does he need the nurse to come, what do I do etc.
You're not qualified to judge whether neighbour needs medical help and you've not got the equipment and training to pick him up safely without injuring yourself.
So maybe minor fillings such as popping for a prescription or posting a letter but nothing heavy

Thesearenotthedroids · Yesterday 18:49

Ooh it's got my teeth on edge. It looks scratchy.

That’s so funny. I’ve killed about 3 merino wool jumpers. And the 3rd one didn’t even shrink. It got caught on a zip.

🤣🤣🤣
I used to have a completely sheer green lace mini dress I wore over a nude-coloured body (with poppers in the gusset and everything) back in about 2001. Blimey those were the days!

I skim read through a few words in this post, picked up it was related to heath services and in my head imagined doctors putting rhe dress / top over their scrubs.

Lesson dont drink wine whilst making Sunday dinner. Or buy see through clothes.

Barney16 · Yesterday 18:58

Oh interesting. A top/dress to wear over another top/dress.

AltitudeCheck · Yesterday 19:02

In the first picture on the M&S page it looks as though it has pockets! Surely not?

In the picture where it's styled over pale jeans it looks like it could be a flimsy waterproof poncho.

MrsMoastyToasty · Yesterday 19:08

I'm working from home this week. Do think it will go well with pyjamas ?

(I wouldn't have bought it...even when DH had staff discount).

damemaggiescurledupperlip · Yesterday 19:12

I am old enough to remember The Mumsnet Scarf.

The Mumsnet See-Through Parents Evening dress suggests the demographic has got much younger. Or old enough to give no fucks.

OtherS · Yesterday 19:14

Just part of the whole 90s throwback trend. I used to wear loads of sheer tops with vests underneath, it was definitely a thing in late 90s. Am I really the only person that remembers this?! I'm sure there was a huge pop song with the singer wearing a sheer top and just a bra underneath, though can't remember what it was. I definitely wasn't brave enough for just a bra though! And I'm not sure anything I had was quite this sheer...

Handy. You could keep a regular sized Tampax with the yellow colouring in your pocket and no one would be any the wiser.

CupidsPysche · Yesterday 19:18

Don’t have a view on the dress but I saw the leather jacket in store last week and it is on my wish list 😍

I think it's slit up the sides and she's got her hands in her trouser pockets.

IDontHateRainbows · Yesterday 19:56

It reminds me slightly of the famous sheer dress kate moss wore in the 90s with only a pair of black knickers under, alas I'm not kate moss in the 90s...
