Ahh no , sorry to hear that 😩 hope you got the energy to do a Mr. This wait is horrible and then to get a decline as well. Xx

Thank you, i really don’t have the energy but I’ll have to try for him. I’ve so many massive fights at the moment plus still waiting for an MR for my other child which is 14 weeks today and still in a queue. 😩 xx

Just out of curiosity is anybody on this post on universal credit and know about the disabled child element?x

I've just updated my UC (change of circumstances) to tell them my son has just qualified for DLA. Once they confirm, I'll ask for the back payment from the claim start date.

I’ve seen things about it, if on high care it has a good top up nearly the same amount as the high rate care I think? It’ll make a huge difference xx

Another positive post
Scan date - 28th July

I called this morning and they said my child has been awarded MRC and LRM

Backdated from June when I rang for the forms

Md234 · 12/10/2026 08:57

Good luck for everyone today xx

WaitingWondering · 12/10/2026 08:27

Positive post
Scan date 29th July

Woke up to a pending back payment in my account for tomorrow.

I believe it's 13 weeks (from when I phoned for forms on 13th July) middle rate care and low rate mobility.

Such a relief. I had convinced myself it was going to be a decline.

Did you get a text or something to say a decision had been made or did you call them? That’s a very quick decision

3amazinkids · 11/10/2026 22:50

My son isn’t even 5 yet, I’m hoping we get a longer award coz his condition is never going to improve but I can’t see it happening! So I sent absolutely tonnes of evidence first time round, this time I’ve only sent a couple of bits but they’re very recent, I really don’t want to have to put up a fight again, it was so mentally draining last time

TheRarePanda · 11/10/2026 22:14

Can anybody advise on how claims during an age change? I applied in July when my son was 4, he recently turned 5 and I am expecting a decision soon as scan date was 6th August. Do they assess based on age at scan date or on age when the DM reviews the claim?

my sons isn’t due till run out until start of January, I really hope we’re not waiting that long! It took us 2yrs to actually win through court tribunal

wow you waited 2 years that’s long. Hopefully this time round the award stays the same. We did a mr then got awarded higher rate mobility after 6 months of waiting and I didn’t send in any extra evidence either. It all depends on whose desk it lands on to be fair. Fingers crossed your little one gets awarded what they deserve x

UmElise · 11/10/2026 21:56

@3amazinkidsmy sons award was meant to expire end of December, they awarded him for another 5 years hrc and hrm under vuw. The only new thing I had was speech and language therapy and a report from school the rest was from 2024 they accepted it. When’s your evidence from? How long ago ?

@3amazinkidsit took 3 weeks for them to make a decision then another week for the decision letter to arrive so I waited 4 weeks in total

Thank you! Did u have much extra evidence?? I didn’t really have much extra, had a sleep diary, a hospital letter and his award notice that we won through court appeal in January saying the he’d been awarded mrc and hrm under VUW guidelines
