Do they log if i have already called and been told about a decision or could i call again and hopefully get someone who will tell me the decision? Do they tell you over the phone as i keep seeing mixed replies? Think i might just keep thinking its a decline review all the paperwork then if she does get awarded it'll be a nice surprise and wont be disappointed when a decline letter come

There’s really no harm in you ringing again and asking. The majority of them understand our worries

I rang one day and they wouldn’t tell me so rang the next day and she told me the amount, payment date and also her award MRC and also how long for. I did what someone advised on here and asked for any payments that are due to me for my daughter xx

My daughter was awarded on the 13th and a pending payment is showing for tomorrow for me x

Oh I cant see pending payments with my bank which is annoying. Im just going to think of it as a decline and start gathering more information for a MR.

Hiya, I’m so confused. Sent off forms for a new claim for my son. They text and wrote to me and said they got the forms on the 3rd of august. Letter is dated the 24th august.
is the 3rd my scan date? I rang on friday and he said its waiting for a decision maker. Ive just rang again and she said it waiting for a case manager to look at it. Is this normal?

Yes 3rd is ur scan date

She has incontinence issues, under the team for it. She’s got hernias bulging but can’t remove which causes more care at night too. She’s partially death due to failed grommets which has damaged her hearing. She’s on waiting list to be assessed for ASD/ADHD . Due to her sensory issues she won’t wear hearing aids. She’s under speech therapy and most people can’t understand what she’s saying except me. She’s also being tested for a form of diabetes now too which is a new thing. So yeah she’s got multiple needs at the minute .

Glad you finally got awarded.

I'm same as you - think my son really should have been high rate care (he got middle rate care and low rate mobility). But I can't bring myself to do a MR. I think I'll just gather as much evidence as I can for his renewal in 2 years, hopefully they'll raise it then.

He just got accepted for a disabled bus pass with a companion, which will help massively as I don't drive.

Good luck everyone still waiting!

My son got MRC, I thought he deserved HR so I done MR and I only sent a written letter from myself to the reasons why. He got awarded HR did take 4 months but was worth it, was quite straight forward x

Md234 · 15/10/2026 08:39

@Mumto4and5 from what you’ve explained I think she should have been awarded high rate care too! Like you say the process is just draining enough as it is isn’t it let alone having to go back in for a mr!xx

Renewal - award runs out 5/11 my son is also 11 and currently on HRC LRM hopefully not to much longer to wait.

my sons award expired 03/10. The renewal was scanned July 6th….was told last week it was with a case worker but have heard nothing since?! So who knows!

Doymum · 14/10/2026 17:14

Hi I called them today they said it’s not been looked at yet and to call back the day after the award ends

Ah ok, I’m sure everything will be fine, I just hope the award this time sees them out until they reach 16, the forms are very heavy arnt they.

Mumto4and5 · 14/10/2026 18:58

shejokes11 · 14/10/2026 18:53

Aw, I defo think high rate should of been awarded but it’s also best to wait for the letter and see if your comfortable with the dates given to her for as she may get ‘worse’ and if the review is too long then it’s problematic x

At the moment I don’t have it in me to do a MR to be honest so I worst case if that happens I’ll do a coc. Xx

NC scan date 18/9
called today to change the school details as I received forms feb but life got crazy and didn’t send until September
Man on the phone was lovely and informed me that September applications are looking at January decisions
not sure if this is useful to anyone or whether they just generically say it to stop anyone calling 😅 he was very nice and helpful and noted 51 pages of evidence had been uploaded twice

My daughter has been awarded middle rate care. I do think she should be entitled to high rate but I don’t have it in me to fight it anymore so I’m happy she’s been awarded in general xx

Why do you think that OP x

That’s the thing, the process has been so draining. I don’t fancy doing it again until the renewal. Xx
