I am in tears this morning.

First day of nursery for my 1 year old DS. He barely got a goodbye or a kiss. Just bundled into the car and off her went.

Because I spent 2 hours this morning with my ASD older DS in meltdown.

My 1 year old just stood there, holding his teddy, waiting until we could leave. Just watching. Everyone always tells me how independent and resilient my 1 year old is - he never cries, plays independently - but it's because 99% of my time I'm supporting my ASD 3 year old.

First day at nursery - he should have had some attention. I just have an image of him standing at the door in his coat just waiting.

How do people do it?

Aw, that sounds really upsetting. Can you split tasks with your partner if you have one so one child always gets one parent’s full attention?

Oh bless you. I’ve no advice other than wanting to give you a hug x

It's so hard, I wish I had a solution, but the squeaky wheel gets the most oil. Try to arrange doing things 1-1 with each child, they really do love the attention. It helps a bit!
