@Adamd12

Hi can I just ask what is journal? Can anyone contact the dla through this, I’ve never heard of it?
Is that maybe ur UC journal ? I think you can contact UC through it, I am still on the old style benefits so I am not entirely sure.

@LovingLanz5 I have been told many different stories by them for the past 2 weeks , I am at a loss, mine was 8/10 so I will be 10 weeks on Friday, I kind of thought i would at least be on someones desk not still waiting on allocation . I think I am going down the manager route , last week I got told they were going to be doing up to the 5/10 and this man who couldn't be bothered tonight said they were still on end of September, at that point I nearly fell of my chair. I just want , like all of us a decision so I know what else is available , carers and child tax credits will be another wait(granted not as long) but this department are the worst for time . I have never experienced anything like it and they seem to have got worse.

LovingLanz5 · 14/12/2021 18:24

@mum42boys82
Yes I spoke to a rude gentleman who clearly wanted to finish up for the day. They are still dealing with 12/10 decision time now is 9.5 weeks(take me to Monday next week) I could be waiting after Xmas he said (kind of lost my rag) I asked if a manager could ring me back in morning.
@DeludedWench that'd positive news hold on to that, hopefully It will be sorted this week

mum42boys82 · 14/12/2021 18:03

Just off the phone to them, still in a que to be allocated by a DM, I am the 8/10 and the guy on phone seemed clueless as he said they were still dealing with end of sept -more contradiction from Yesterday as they said it was up to 12/10 this week. He told me to try again at the END of next week. I am phoning every day now .

@DeludedWench that's fantastic news, I would take that as positive , I hope you get the final decision soon. keep phoning them.

DeludedWench · 14/12/2021 16:52

The lady did say something that made me think but I don't want to look too much into it. But she said "it goes to medical services to make sure you get the correct award".. Now if that means "its a yes and we just need to figure out if it's middle or high" or "it can still be no award", I don't know.

DeludedWench · 14/12/2021 16:30

Okay. So our claim has gone to medical services, because they needed doctors advice as its so rare. So I should hear something this week.

DeludedWench · 14/12/2021 16:18

@LovingLanz5 the amount of stress in my neck, man. Lol. Still in queue by the way 🤣

LovingLanz5 · 14/12/2021 16:12

Fingers crossed. I was tempted to call today but I'm going to wait till tomorrow

DeludedWench · 14/12/2021 15:56

Currently in a call queue, probably no update, but I'm trying lol.

Moonlightstar · 14/12/2021 12:29

Hi, Dla received mine on October 21st but I'm am posting them more information today does anyone know if this will hold back my application or speed it up. The waiting times are dreadful

Jneill2021 · 14/12/2021 12:16

@Lifey hiya mine took just over a week for back payment and amending my statements they was really quick in my case, I did message everyday for an update as I do no other people that waited around 3 months so I would be really persistent in messaging them xx

Lifey · 14/12/2021 12:04

@Jneill2021 hi, do you know how long it takes universal credit to get back to you? I was awarded Friday and left a message on my journal reporting the changes

mum42boys82 · 13/12/2021 21:47

@Imitatingdory

Have a look at some other charities as well. Caudwell children, Newlife and Variety help with sensory toys, but there are others too. The first two also help with equipment, as can Children Today and several other charities.
thanks very much, i will check them out.

@Imitatingdory

mum42boys82 have you applied for any charity grants? They can help with sensory toys and equipment. Have you had a home visit assessment by an OT.
I have applied for the family fund for sensory toys but the aids the doctor recommended for his sleep one is well over £100 and the other is £40 which is totally out my budget. The OT therapy could be up to 6-9 months waiting list for my area, he is on a list but I wanted to use his DLA to have a private assessment to get it done faster . He sees the paediatrician, SALT, audiology, ENT and has been assessed by a child psychologist. To be honest I just want to know that I have a steady income for my little boy so I have the freedom to buy him what he needs from where I want to, we have relayed on vouchers and hand outs for 4 months now and I have had enough . The money that is coming in right now is not enough to get by on and support a child that has additional support needs.
