letter looks great!

foxinsocks · 28/06/2007 19:16

sorry, I meant R as in the RL part of O!

foxinsocks · 28/06/2007 19:15

I think that sounds great esbee. Think it's a fab idea to use his statement in the letter - really makes you think when it's set out like that.

I only hope they can find a place for him at R. GOod luck.

Not too bad at all then (and if Dh ever gets his way we'll be closer- he would love to go back to Ilminster way)

Dont fret the spelling- you've seen my tyouing lol

That's a great letter. (check spelling of intergrated- thought it was integrated?)

E-mail itbut back up with a paper copy as soon as post starts up again, its good for them to have a file copy and it keeps your child at the forefront of their minds.

A meet up would be good- we're just over the Severn bridge so maybe Taunton? (Mum's in bridgwater and FIL in Merriott so would work quite well for me) if that's OK?

esbee

I just had achat with the head at our school yesterda toarrnage HE ing DS3 until Easter, so if you want a chat do e-mail me, i've joined a SN HE group and all that gubbins. You're not really that far from me either (even less so from FIL) so we could meet up and have a chat if that would help? It would be interesting to see your ds and ds1 (also HFA) see if we can swap tips about what has help keep ds1 in his school etc (he also has a statement with 1-1). Let me know if you fancy it any time, a mid pont would be easiest but DH can usually be eprsuaded down for a trip with the tent LOL.

I really can't see that residential is sensible unless you both want it. I have 2 friends with 10 year old ASD kids whoa re looking into it through a combination of choice and despearation, but I think youa re probably like me- finding it hard but not wanting to let go, which is a good thing. ASD kids find it ahrd enough to make bonds after all- those decent ones they have should be nurtured not treated as disposable.

Am wondering if a few posts on the HE SN forum would find you some local he-ers to chat to? Let me know if you think so (no memberships cots or anything) and i'lll CAT you the details.

bath then bed for me, e-mail me if you want me before tomorrow night.

mummytosteven · 27/06/2007 23:46

that would be a heck of a lot of transitions in one day...

I would use that quote as the starting point - then pick out why O fulfils it and R doesn't.

I meant as to whether you could say - his paed recommended it, quote from report, not doubting that visual timetables are a GOOD thing.

mummytosteven · 27/06/2007 23:24

would also add in something about behaviour re:anxiety etc. so that it sounds like it will be hassle to the school rather than just DS1 if he is not placed where you want him.

think you need to add more as to why school 2 IS more suitable. i.e spell out that they are the opposite of school 1.

mummytosteven · 27/06/2007 23:22

also has any official bod recommended visual timetables?

mummytosteven · 27/06/2007 23:22

can you cross refer to anything in his "statement" to back up your points?

also you may wish to report your post to MN to get DS's name out of it!!!!!
