You are right. It’s grim. MN is grim. I don’t know why I’m on here tbh, it fuels my depression. I think the days of the messageboard are kind of done. The culture of this one is not great and some of that is down to design choices. If you navigate active threads like I do it’s pure bile, Daily Mail comments section bile. At least with Reddit you choose what to follow and your main feed is mostly that. I’m also pretty sure the site is overrun with bad actors and that they are not on top of it at all here.
