MNHQ do your advertisers know what happens here at night? Not very advertiser-friendly is it? The tabloids will be picking this up one day.

So, at what point are your advertisers going to cancel their adverts with you and start advertising on a porn site which is more family friendly than here?

I believe this is the second or third night in a row? And you don’t even pay people to monitor this?

On a slightly different but related note, loads of us are getting sick of the sheer number of threads being placed on the site purely to drive traffic that are clearly not from genuine posters. They are certain classic characteristics of these threads which make them very formulaic and easy to spot.

Who is behind it though, and why? Who gains anything from dumping wholesale, made up threads onto MN except MN itself and/or its advertisers? They are turning this forum into a travesty because it's becoming blatantly obvious that people are spending all their time counselling non-existent people on non-existent moral dilemmas. I thought MN was better than this.

There was a whole thread on Site Stuff about this a while ago and as usual we were encouraged to report them, blah blah.

I did finally bother to report one three days ago. I asked the mods to do a search on that account to see if there were multiple user names all with just one post under each name, and to cross reference the threads to see if there were any obvious inconsistencies between threads, making it highly unlikely that they were all started by the same 'person' who genuinely had all these wildly unconnected problems in their life.

I haven't even received a response.

I do appreciate the work of the Night watch team but a site as big as Mumsnet shouldn't be relying on you.

I don’t know who they are or any backstory, but I have in my head an image of an Australian woman maybe doing her full wfh day, or looking after kids, or doing her supermarket shop etc, and to have to spend a huge amount of time on here as well, unpaid, is ridiculous really. They should be paid a proper amount.

Just reported an idiot on the feminism board. Just checked and MN have already deleted them. That was quick. Considering it's 2.40am. 👍

Well thank you, but the point is is they paid you properly like an actual employee you would have more powers to do whatever you needed to, and you would be able to sit here and work instead of doing your actual job or cooking or whatever else you’re doing.

The fault is entirely Mumsnets for asking people to volunteer then basically handing over half the keys to the nuclear power station, then waffling to the BBC when it all goes wrong.

Mumsnet are completely unprofessional and tight with it. A million pound business that won't pay for nighttime mods, is a joke. The whole site is clunky and slow and they ban posters for minor infringements yet cannot remove posts like the one quoted or the awful child abuse pictures posted several months ago, for several hours.

They need to hire a white hat hacker to make sure everything is secure, and get a paid mod on at night. Even just one would make quite a difference, I'm sure.
