What's this 'show more/show less' nonsense for?!

It completely breaks up the flow of a thread.

Do you really think we haven't got the brain power to read a post that's longer than two paragraphs?!

This is awful. It means you have to click on every single post.

Either remove or give us the option to disable it please MN.

Very annoying. I read faster than my thumb can move and it breaks the flow. Please stop it. Or give users an opt in if you must.

Here to register my annoyance.

Why add a feature no-one asked for if you don't also add the option to turn it off?

It doesn't save any Mumsnet server time because the text is still sent and it is just bloody annoying.

But surely it's up to the reader to decide if they're going to read the whole thread, or to bail out when it becomes apparent it's a load of word salad?!

I don't need MNHQ to control what I'm reading.

I don’t like it, it’s too short, I would really like it if it had a much longer limit to cut off the really long endless posts that people occasionally write (especially the ones that start with “I asked Chat GPT for you”)

Also super annoyed by it. How can you have an in depth conversation about complicated things - which is what I come to Mumsnet for, if you hide anything detailed anyone writes. If I wanted inane five word comments "amazing ❤️❤️❤️" then I would be on Instagram not Mumsnet.
