Exactly, no one is removing any layers of clothing and it doesn’t matter how many layers a woman is or is not wearing compared to a man, we should have single sex spaces.

Clothing is being pushed down or to one side.
The number of layers of clothing is the same so why that is even mentioned makes no sense.

In the grand scheme of things, it’s a very weak argument for single sex spaces and not the sword I would fall on. The arguments saying women need safety, dignity, privacy are much better. Number of layers of clothing worn is irrelevant. Don’t women in a swimming pool or gym need their own toilets too? Even if all they have on is an itty bitty bikini?

I am sitting here in a dress and also wondering what the extra layers would be? I am physically wearing fewer layers than a man in boxers and shorts.

In all truth OP, name calling is frequent on MN and it is often done by posters who are too proud to admit they are wrong so they resort to personal attacks.

Reporting helps but often it’s best to just disengage and come back in a day or so when heads are cooler. Anyone seeing the exchange can see who is being rude and who is not.

Too, some posters confuse questioning a rationale with being diametrically opposed. It’s annoying when you do agree with the general issues raised but not the stated reasons why - like you can be for women to have single sex spaces for toileting but not agree it’s due to extra layers of clothing- but they’re hurling accusations at you.

I find it helps to state the parts of a post that you do agree with before questioning details you don’t think are correct.

I mean I honestly couldn’t say what all the layers are but perhaps in cultures where women dress very modestly it’s more involved? For most western women it’s pants and trousers or skirts. I don’t know but I do know that MN has had a lot of threads lately with heightened emotions.
