Site continually crashing and reloading

I’m using DuckDuckGo too, and it works perfectly. I’m particularly happy not to have to see that ad with close-up footage of people scratching and scratching at their dry skin - it made me feel sick.

I thought using this used to result in endless messages about the need to disable adblockers and log in again, PuppyMonkey?

Though if that's stopped I expect it'll soon restart again ...

Just popping on here after reading a recommendation for DuckDuckGo browser (instead of Safari which is what I was using on my iPhone) - so far, so good. Seems to have cured all the issues I was having on Safari (threads freezing and pages going blank and reloading, little messages coming up saying “page reloading” etc). Really weird using MN again without any issues.

Im using android and the site is virtually unusable for me atm as keeps crashing.

Yes, today the page loading on the site has been absolute shite.

@Traceysgoingtobelivid Happens all the time to me too. On my iPad. The freezing drives me batty.

Happens all the time with me too. iPhone safari. I thought it was a “feature” as it always happens s if I try to search the thread for a word which I think is something MN monetise?

the ads cover people’s posts too so sometimes I don’t know what’s happened in the thread!

No change for me today. Still freezing and blank page whilst it takes forever to load.

Yep, jinxed it - went on another thread and it was back and crashed again.

Exactly!! The page is stuck, can’t scroll until the ad appears at the top

As a start, that one is not rocket science (not directed at you!). It’s painfully obvious how long it takes that space at the top of the page to load to not have an inkling that might just be one of the many issues users are having.

The drop down video ad hopefully ..

Agree most posters who are reporting it’s usually those of us that have iPads or iPhones.

I'm convinced that Mumsnet is somehow incompatible with Apple devices. As I said before, it works fine on my HP laptop, but not on my iPhone or iPad.

When mnhq use the site is it perfectly behaved for them?

Or are they using latest spec stuff? But the beauty of mn was that it’d work on my old iPad until the ads messed everything up. And it’s messed up on my newer iPhone. Even when I had the latest iOS.

It’s the drop down video ad that is causing problems imo. The site pauses until it loads.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news @noblegiraffe im on iPad & it’s a total nightmare has been for months have reported many many times the constant reloading/freezing blank white page losing posts because it crashes mid reply plus the ghost typing I have suggested MN simply use iPad/iPhone & see for themselves what happens to no avail they just ask for screen shots which is nigh on impossible when the bloody site keeps freezing or reloading.

This is happening to me constantly, but I’m trying to access MN in my laptop. It’s slightly better on the iPhone.

That would be a shame, @noblegiraffe; I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking you'd be missed, but the lack of engagement from HQ is worrying and I really do hope we're not entering the last days of Mumsnet
