Anyone else getting kicked off MN by Cloudflare outage?

Just that - it's happening on both laptop and iphone, intermittently.

I noticed that! I thought the internet was completely broken, although quickly realised YouTube was working, yay!

Maybe we are becoming a bit too reliant on computers to run the world.

The original idea behind the internet was that it would have lots and lots of different ways to access it, and redundancies, so that it would always be available one way or another. And now here we are.

20% being wiped out at one go seems to me to be a poor step in the wrong direction, really. It leaves everyone a little too vulnerable to cyberattack, or just to bad faith on the part of the people who own the 20%, as far as I am concerned.

I have a friend who writes "Also I am giggling because the parent institution of" (his work) "is behind Cloudflare. They have been pushing us for years to move to their preferred cloudy provider. They were down when Microsoft fell over recently, they're down again today, and they're paying through the nose for it…" Need I say he's been one of the people pushing against Cloudflare for his place of work?

I've been shut out of Mumsnet for a while today.

Cloudflare cover thousands of websites so I'm not surprised MN has been affected.

What surprised me though was finding I'd been automatically logged out. Anyone else?

MN ok with me so far. Massive issue with cloudflare, isn't it? Our website at work is down, and one of the credit referencing agencies we use. Even the Companies House website was a bit flakey this morning, although our bank was okay thank goodness.

There were one or two sites I used at work yesterday that were acting strange, so I wonder if they are fending off an attack and have had to close it down.
