Full page (gross) Ann Summers adverts

So have they gone yet Mumsnet? And if not could you at least just put them in sex or even 'style and beauty' threads?
They really shouldn't be appearing in 'Life limiting illnesses'

I ignore all adverts on here and elsewhere on the web. I don't even notice what they're for. The Ann Summers ones stood out because I don't generally have a bare arse pointing at me from my phone so I was a bit taken aback. I know it's not related to any scrolling I've done recently so I just wondered why they'd suddenly appeared or if everybody was getting the same ones.

I don't find sex offensive i don't even think Anne Summers is offensive, what i do find inappropiate is scrolling mumsnet and having half my phone screen obscured by an advert featuring maid in suspenders outfits or thongs and bra adds, .we are all "told" that we must be sex positive blah blah but surely there is a time and place, i get mumsnet is a business and needs advertisers and AS has a deal with mumsnet but my forgive me if i don't like "sexy nurses" to be included in my scrolling and reading.

You can do whatever you want in the privacy of your own bedroom. Your post misses the point entirely.

These types of 'ads' appear in Playboy and in XXX pornographic sites as well as sex stores.

How are they not pornographic, @Jennyathemall ? We're talking about them being placed on a general website where teens and even young children may come across while their mum is browsing on here, not a site where you have to have age check to enter. A general site. I think I speak for the overwhelming majority of people, both female and male, when I say it is entirely inappropriate for these 'ads' to appear on this family site.

I’m sorry but if you are having this kind of strong reaction to lingerie adds then you’ve got bigger issues. I get them. I see them. I dont think they are “GROSS!!” or even tacky. Certainly not “porn”. You find it offensive because for whatever reason you find the idea of dressing up sexy for a man to be
offensive. Well guess what, the majority of us, those who have a healthy relationship with sex, don’t. You don’t get to police the world to make it conform to your twisted vision of how things should be.

It’s definitely a step too far with the pop up ads.

They adverts reminded me of what used to be on the cover of what became known as "top shelf magazines" and which have pretty much disappeared from newsagents. They were horrible when they were on open display.

No one is objecting because they think sex is disgusting. I'm objecting because I don't want to open up threads MN [ the Archers' thread was being taken over by them] and see a naked arse or a woman trussed up in a "sexy maid's outfit" and stockings. If I wanted to see pornographic images [I don't btw] there are plenty of places I could go.

I saw them and it didn't occur to me that it was anything more than a well known store advertising to a mainly female audience, it doesn't bother me, I just scrolled on and didn't think about it until your post. I don't think they're particularly daring outfits (maybe a bit silly with the maid one).

I think there’s sadly a lot of sexual repression out there. Sex is meant to be fun! I don’t understand all the disgust. This is a site for adults (originally targeting adult women) and as a lot of women on here have children, you can assume a lot of us are sexually active or were at one time. It’s just an advert for fun underwear. It’s not meant to be offensive.

Actually, perhaps an odd concept to some, dressing up in nice lingerie makes me feel really hot and sexy. It’s not just for the benefit of men you know! I just wish my DH would buy me some as a gift or encourage me to wear it, but HE doesn’t like it. I wear it purely for ME.

Yup I don't want these either. That said I'm glad it's not just me. I've has these all over some poor person's thread about dementia and they are offensive, especially when someone is looking for serious advice at one of the worst times of their lives.
