What’s up with the MN app?

It’s suddenly frozen.

Everything else on my phone is working as normal.

(Have had to go back to the mobile site to write this.)

Hi all,

Just a quick update to say we're aware of the issue, and we're working on fixing it as soon as possible. We're really sorry this may continue to happen in the meantime. If you do encounter it, quitting the app completely and reopening it should allow you to get back in for now - but we’re aiming to get it properly resolved ASAP.

Regarding the menu staying open when you return to the app from a thread. We're not able to replicate this ourselves, so if it's happening consistently, we'd really appreciate it if those affected could send us a screen recording showing the issue. You can email it to us at [email protected].

Please reference this thread when mailing screen recordings.

Hi, @JoMumsnet - 45.1.0 - is that the app version?

I’m on an iPhone 15, and everything is completely back to normal!

I was just scrolling as normal through various threads before it froze.

I’m having the same problem - trying to get back to active conversations from a thread brings up. List of my favorite topics which I can choose, but can’t close and also can’t click on ‚active Conversations’ at the bottom of the sidebar at all. Have also given up.

this is on an iPad. It felt like there’d been some sort of update as I had to accept cookies etc first thing this morning. On my iPhone its currently ok.

I’m on the app and I can’t get from a thread I have been looking at, back to active. When I try it just takes me to a page about favourites and I have to close the whole app to get out of it. It’s just started today.

I’m on the app and it’s working fine for me op, so it might be a device specific issue (eg works fine on iPhone but not working on android), an issue specific to your individual device or a wifi issue maybe?

Sorry to hear that you're having problems with the app. We have a few questions to help us get to the bottom of this -

  1. What device is it happening on? (i.e. iPhone 15, Samsung Galaxy etc)
  2. Can you recall the last few actions that you took before the app froze?
  3. Are you able to quit the app completely and reopen it again?
  4. And if you can quit it completely and reopen it again, could you please let us know what version of the app you're using? You can check this by opening the app, opening the profile menu in the top right hand corner and then you should be able to see the app version at the bottom of the menu
