Afternoon everyone - thanks to everyone who has given feedback. Anyone who has asked to be removed from the test group up until this post, we've noted this down and hopefully this will be sorted next week. Thanks in advance for your patience with this.

Hi @AnSolas thanks so much for your detailed reply - we appreciate you taking the time to explain.

This isn't a widespread issue on infinite scroll specifically as far as we know so in the first instance can we suggest that you clear your cookies to see if that resolves the problem. We can see that you were removed from the infinite scroll test group so it's likely that this is a cookie issue.

@AnSolas . Sorry to hear your threads are crashing. Can you tell us any more about this? If you could let us know what device and browser you're using and tell us exactly what you're doing when the thread crashes, that would be helpful. It would also be useful to know which threads in particular this is happening on. Thank you!

Hi again @aiskabash . Ah, apologies - we hadn't realised you were talking about the app here. The app is and always has been 'infinite scroll'. Pages aren't recognised in the app we're afraid.

But we have taken you out of the test group so if you want to use the main site on your phone rather than the app you'll be able to choose how many pages you want to see in your settings.

@aiskabash Can we ask if you're still on the infinite scrolling as far as you can tell? We've removed you from the test group more than once but it sounds like you're still there. We have had this difficulty with a couple of users but have got there in the end. Let us know how it is for you now and we'll take another look if necessary. Thanks for your patience.

@EmeraldRoulette Glad to hear it seems to have worked this time. Fingers crossed! Just give us a shout here again if you have any further problems with it.

@InvisibleOldHag There does seem to be something odd going on with excluding you from this group. We're really sorry for the inconvenience. We're looking into it now and will pop back whenever we have any more news on it.

Hi again @aiskabash . This is really strange. We've just double checked and you are definitely removed from the test group so shouldn't be seeing the 'infinite scroll' style threads. Can we ask you first to just have a look at your own settings and check they are set at 50 posts per page (or however you like them) and that you've scrolled down and saved that preference? Actually, it might be worth changing the preference on pages per thread, saving, seeing if that works, and then changing the preference back and saving again, just to see if those preferences are working correctly.

If all that seems to be in order, could you send us a screen video? You can email it to [email protected] if you prefer and just mark it 'infinite scroll test group issue'. You can even just use your phone to video it on your computer if that's easier than doing an actual screen video. It would just be useful to see exactly what's happening so we can get it sorted for you.

Morning, everyone. We'll remove anyone who has requested to leave the test group since our last message asap.

If anyone else who's not enjoying having no pages would also like to be taken out of it, just let us know here. We'll only remove you if you expressly ask to leave the test group.

@EmeraldRoulette @Jesss21 @aiskabash and @InvisibleOldHag . We're really sorry you still seem to be on infinite scroll. We have removed you from the group (more than once in some cases) but there seems to be an issue with a small number of users and we need to work out what's going wrong here. We'll make sure you're all removed again today. If it's still a problem tomorrow please let us know and we'll start trying to eliminate things that might be a problem.

Anyone who asked to be removed before my post yesterday should have now been taken out of the group. Please let us know if that hasn't happened.

@LuckyLerwick We'll check your status now and make sure you're not in the group.

hi @Wallywobbles there's a "save" button in the 3 dots menu on the top right hand corner of each post - does this do what you'd like it to do? It allows you to save posts in a list - and then bookmark just marks where you're upto on a thread. All a bit hidden and we can look at that - but just wondering if it does what you'd like it to do or not quite?

Hey @TheSuperbOwl I understand it’s annoying for you but I can 100% assure you there’s no one at MNHQ who hasn’t got enough to do or is trying to justify their salary by pissing people off. As I’ve said, there are many good reasons why we’re testing this out, but I get that it’s not for everyone and so we will have an option to turn it off if we do roll it out.

btw you can jump to the reply box at any time by hitting the “add post” button that appears on every post.

We will get anyone who’s asked to be removed taken out of the test group as soon as we can. Thanks for feedback and sorry for annoyance. Lots of people find it an easier way to read threads but I understand it’s not for everyone and so, as I’ve said above, if we do roll it out, we’ll have a way for you to switch it off in settings.

Hi @LuckyLerwick it’s done on a random basis. It has nothing to do with your Premium status.

Also @NebulousDogWhistleIsReality can I just ask you something? Have you ever used the "save post" feature on Mumsnet? It's in the 3 dots on every post. Does that do what you say can be done on other forums? Or are you talking about something different? Would be really helpful to know...

Hi @Onlycoffee - thanks for feedback - really useful. Just to say, you don't need to keep scrolling to get to the reply box - if you hit "add post" on any post, it'll take you straight to the reply box. Taking into account all your other feedback as well though, thanks for posting.
