Do we really want a site for parents to be littered with adverts for tacky see through lingerie and sex toys? Really?

I believe (but may be wrong) that it's not just based on products you look at online to buy but everything you read.
So if you (or someone in your home) read some articles about the army or similar that's why adverts for balaclavas are coming up.

MN just provide the space for the advert generally, advertising companies fill it with content based on the site and other things they know about you or other people using your computer (they store cookies and your IP address). Clearing cookies might help

In fairness, I’m more pissed off at the ads on MN that a) refuse to use female-centric language for female products and/or b) use sexist and misogynistic imagery eg/a bunch of women hanging out in their underwear together to sell products not related to underwear.

I don’t think a lot of thought goes into what ads they allow other than whether it might bring clicks ie/revenue..

I personally haven't seen any Ann Summers adverts.

On another site far far away I got Red Diesel (What farmers boaters etc use with no duty paid) Ukranian Women and care homes, all at the same time.

One ad here was for Lovehoney with two women on it so that was definitely very very wrong!

It often depends whether you're getting personalised ads or not. I used to refuse to have personalised ads because it meant they were tracking what I was viewing online, but then I saw that I got much more explicit ads (same with the children when they went online). Can't win with adverts.

Op, they're absolutely right - ads are tailored to your algorithm and I also have seen zero Ann Summers adverts....

It’s nothing to do with being a prude. It’s that I assume some people scroll whilst young children are around and might not want to explain why the lady’s ‘dress’ is see through.

I’m the only one who uses the laptop and I definitely haven’t been looking at anything like that. I’d be surprised if anyone else in the house is. I thought MN showed paid advertising? It’s only on here that I’m seeing them.
