Why aren’t you banning the far-right agitators?

Deleting their posts but allowing them to keep inciting racial hatred under the same accounts is making the site unusable. Why should we keep reporting them if you’re not going to do anything meaningful about it?

Please listen to first hand accounts of witnesses rather than trying to make political points.

You'd think so, but I doubt that they will.

If this is the shape of things to come on MN, then I had better start looking for another way of wasting my time. I really don't want to let the far right take over, but I don't actually think I can hack much more of it.

Seeing the sheer extent of the racism and the support for racist posters is not doing my mental health any good at all.

I’ve had a standard reply from MN stating that most comments don’t break the guidelines so the Southport thread is allowed to stand.

They need to update their guidelines.

Plenty do, there is no way you haven’t seen the ”oh here we go, accusations of islamaphobia”.
Almost always in quotes too, to really make it known that they don’t take it seriously.
And more often than not actine THEY are the victim for being hatefull person 🙄.
It’s crazy out here.

It's all a bit close to home and too many allegations from flying round from all sides that just don't makes sense from my pov as a semi-local. Southport is the last place I could imagine anything like Monday happening. It pretty much shuts down at 5.30! People last night were saying a large knife, that's all I know and I'll leave it at that.

Yes. Right by us at the vigil. We went down Neville Street to the seafront last night, it's 50/50 which road we go down normally. Or is there an implication I was at the riot?

Who thinks the EDL are cuddly? Only idiots imo. The only thing I have to say about them is that they're sadly far from the worst people involved in the whole sorry saga. Lets all condemn them together, but don't use it as an excuse not to examine the underlying problem whether it be male violence or cultural impacts.

(Probably relevant - we can't speculate anything about the murderer in case it prejudices the trial, it's probably best not to speculate too much about the riots, I assume there were arrests and criminals should not walk free)
