Well said. You cant say it's ok for someone to ridicule one religion only and not others. If you wouldnt ridicule Islam (which I agree, you shouldn't) then why is Christianity ok to ridicule?

If members of those religions posted claiming that their religion was the absolute truth and asking for special privileges in society then I would be happy and willing to challenge them, but so far they haven't. Christians frequently do.

I agree, op. For a Christian country it's surprising that all religions are respected, other than Christianity by the general population.

But calling someone delusional isn't persecution. Has anyone ever refused to give you a job or rent you a home or allow you access to goods and services because of your beliefs? Of course not.

In my experience people only start being rude about any religionif people are inappropriately proselytising in a context where people just want to be getting on with life. I don't see as much disparaging of other religions solely because there's not nearly so much obnoxious unsolicited preaching about other religions.

If members of other religions posted on here expecting special consideration and privileges in the society I am a manner of, I would be quick to challenge them too.

"Special status" implies that everyone is currently recieving equal treatment and OP wants something different. That's not the case. She is asking for the same level of courtesy that is afforded to people of other religions who post on MN.

It is rude to say these things to someone’s face. Very important to allow free speech to ridicule all religions though.
I think all religions are delusional but would never say this to anyone religious in those terms.
