Why did the "Lisa Johnson One to Many" thread get deleted?

I'm with you @BeMorePositive. I find the 'sympathy' and 'concern' for the original poster coming from people who themselves were responsible for name calling on the original post, somewhat sickening. (on the original thread on 16th March, 10:01 just for reference for one example).

I'm sure anyone reading this thread can draw their own conclusions. Lisa isn't hard to find on social media if you have questions.

Remember behind all these anonymous names, on BOTH sides, there are REAL people. I'd hate for my children, or any of my family in fact, to be subjected to anything like some of what has happened on these threads. Before commenting is it something you would want your child to be on the receiving end of. Something to consider going forward perhaps.

I've also had other serious life stuff going on and honestly having to deal with Lisa's unpleasantness was the rotten cherry on an already rancid cake.

She had absolutely no concern for me whatsoever, everything was about protecting her brand no matter what and I can't forgive her for that because it was totally unnecessary.

Posters here piling on to defend Lisa without knowing what happened really sticks in my craw to be honest.

I agree - in amongst all of this has been a real person who’s had to deal with all of this stuff going on around them as a result of asking a perfectly reasonable question as a result of investing a substantial amount of money into something. 😔

Firstly, I want to just check in that you are doing ok as reading the time line of events on your post above creates a feeling of unease for me so I hope you are ok after all this furore.

I can imagine how I would be feeling if I were in your shoes and so I hope you have people around you who you trust to talk this through with and process.

Secondly, thank you for posting and clarifying your experience.

For me, your post says everything that needs to be said on this matter.

Overall this has been a truly unpleasant scene for me to watch unfold and I hope this can put an end to it all now 🤞🏼

Lisa Johnson conveniently forgot that you'd been extremely positive about her and about OTM to start with. You were doing your due diligence.

What she did to you as a result of the first thread was unacceptable and has not shown LJ in a good light at all.

I’m pretty sure I recall the word “event” being used in the original thread to describe a facebook live that was imminent. Either way, the original OP was concerned of being identified and / or outed in some way.

A FB Live event was mentioned.

Original OP was clearly correct as they WERE identified as a refund was processed and OP was blocked. And yes as I understand it there was a follow up facebook post talking about how you can choose what clients you work with which made for uncomfortable reading.

I believe the user name was maybe somehow linked to their real life name / facebook name. From what I could understand original OP was also concerned that once “outed” or at least alluded to being who they were they were concerned that all of their Mumsnet usage could be found / searched / read / commented on. OP was quite stressed and concerned about this if I remember correctly. Their concerns were not without foundation given that they WERE identified and refunded without requesting a refund and subsequently blocked.

She was under the impression that she was going to be mentioned by Lisa Johnson at an event. Then when Lisa Johnson herself came onto the thread, she was concerned that Lisa would also look for her other MN posts and refer to things in them in whatever the event thing was going to be. Lisa had her real name through the signing up and reaching out obviously and the OP didn't want any of that connecting to things she'd said elsewhere on MN.
HQ agreed clearly that her fear of being "outed" was real. It's very rare they change all a person's posts for them.

I can't remember now, but she was worried that Lisa would doxx her, so she asked MNHQ to change her user name.

You’re correct. It certainly did feel like retaliation.

Retaliation:

the act of hurting someone or doing something harmful to someone because they have done or said something harmful to you.

Having said that I can’t recall the defamatory or harmful remarks from the original, now deleted post from last week.

I can recall posters posting as if they were replying to Lisa in the belief that either her or her team was watching and some comments could have been deemed argumentative or antagonistic possibly.

I can recall posters challenging methods and claims made by Lisa or her affiliates - that was uncomfortable as posters were unable to find evidence to substantiate claims that had been made for various people but as a part of due diligence one would expect to be researched in this way and variances challenged by a potential client or investor.

Please correct me if I am wrong on this as I’m happy to understand.

It very much felt like a retaliation which was unpleasant to watch unfold and provided me with an opportunity to make my own judgement.

I did not feel the comments made on facebook were directed at a minority of MumsNet users, but at the platform and its users as a whole, and so as a user myself felt that was directed at me as much as anybody else using this site.

Moving forward I would be very grateful if MN can make contact with the original ORIGINAL Poster from the deleted thread to make sure they are ok as all of this has come about as a result of them asking a question and I know that they were provided with a refund and blocked by Lisa / Lisas team and that cannot have left a very nice feeling for the OOP and I for one feel sorry for them possibly feeling stuck in the middle of all this.
