Where has 'quote' gone?

It was really useful for building on or endorsing a PP's reply, or answering their question or sometimes correcting misinformation.

It seems to have disappeared. I can still see 'reply' which doesn't tag them or quote their post, and doesn't seem any different from replying to the thread?

It’s always been in the three dots in the top left hasn’t it? At least it has for me. But i don’t use the app.

@DragonFly98 you can reply like this. If you type in @ and the first few letters of the poster name it will appear in a drop down which you can select from.

I prefer this to the endless, endless quoting!

How do you reply to a specific poster? Reply just posts on the thread.

What would be useful is a ban on quoting the op.

Hard agree. I'm hoping that moving the quote function into the three dots menu might prevent the number of times when people quote the OP, which adds no value.

That said, I thought it always was in the three dots menu? I use MN in a desktop browser, though.

Three dots - thought it was always there! I don’t use the app though actually so maybe that’s why.

You can still do it by clicking on the three dots but they should replace the reply button with a quote button.

It's now hidden away in the three dots next to the post which is super irritating.
