i used it yesterday in the hmmm will need to think about this contxt and got told off.
so can someone explain it to me please.

I love the grief tourism concept. A hard one to capture with an emoticon, although I have a hunch this may be a worthy substitute?

I think it's because it gets pressed into service in such a wide variety of ways - everything from 'I found the ending of Titanic really sad' to 'My entire family has been wiped out'. In the latter example it just seems pathetically inadequate.

I like , I see it as a sort of raised eyebrow, halfway between sceptical and reserving judgement.

I hate and don't really like . I don't know why exactly - somehow seems a bit teenagerish and always looks scary and false.

When we first got it I think people used it to say "im not sure/I wonder"...now it just seems to mean "you're talking crap".

Cant we have a different "im not sure" emoticon mumsnet?
