whats a waning moon?

if you click onn the moon on the right hand of the screen by (log out),it says its a waning moon ,what does that mean?

thanks luby i just ggogled it and found out its time to remove spells or rebound bad spells.
can't wait for it to be waxing again as i can cast my good luck spells on everyone.
I was curious as i said to me dh on thurs that the moon looked a bit oval and you could see the craters really clearly.
it also looked liked it had glasses on and was smiling or was that just the booze

Means it is no longer waxing (getting bigger) but now getting smaller (waning)
