is it very clicky on here? whenever i post i never get many replies! i am thinking of not bothering from now on and looking for another site.other people seem to get loads on threads that dont seem important to me! it really annoys me

It's nothing personal - there are so many threads these days that stuff often gets lost very quickly. Try bumping your messages up at a different time of day, so other people get the chance to see them, that might help.

I'm another fan of the trivial stuff, I know that there are more important and more serious things to worry about, buhaving fun is important too, and sometimes it's only the trivial, silly stuff that keeps me sane.

yingers74 · 27/11/2004 19:49

lilsmum - sometimes i read threads but have no advice so don't post but am not ignoring. If u post something I can help with I will reply I promise . When I posted about my dd's sleep I got a mix, one thread just the one person, another one i got quite a lot of replies, it just depends on time of day and who is on. So don't give up on us!

KangaMummy · 27/11/2004 19:46

Stick with us as we are friendly

some messages do get lost sometimes.

It also depends what time you post if there is no one who has the same problem or experience as you it may get missed but if it had been posted at a different time will get loads.

It is not personal to you please do not think that.

hercules · 27/11/2004 19:44

I agree about trivial crap being good too.

joash · 27/11/2004 19:43

I actually like the so-called trivial crap. After a day of issues re; grandsons parents, etc - I need the trivia to keep me sane!!!

hercules · 27/11/2004 19:43

Where have you been ignored? i searched your name and you seem to have had lots of responses? i would say it would probably be mainly people with a similar age child who would post advice so it can be limiting anyway.

Twiglett · 27/11/2004 19:42

and trivial crap gets you through the day sometimes

Twiglett · 27/11/2004 19:41

I just searched on your name and can't find any posts where you've been ignored

have you tried bumping them at more frequent times because sometimes they get lost in the traffic

how many replies do you expect to get by the way?

hunkermunker · 27/11/2004 19:39

Hi Lilsmum - I have a DS who is 8 months, so might not be that good at posting things to do with a 10 month old, but if you have any tips for me, please share!

Seriously though, I find I post on subjects I'm interested in and enjoy the site. I don't necessarily get heaps of replies to things I post, but then I think that's probably similar for everyone. Sometimes the most trivial post will grab people's attention (Coddy never expected to get the amount of posts she did for her Chinese takeaway thread, I bet!), other times it just looks trivial and is ignored. Depends who's online at the time, I reckon. Keep posting though

libb · 27/11/2004 19:39

It does take a little while but please hang around - we are a good bunch despite the odd skirmish and flounce,

How about joining the parenting thread for your darling's age? us May mums never stop rabbiting on . . .

joash · 27/11/2004 19:38

Do stick with it lilsmum. SOmetimes get the feeling that I seem to kill most threads that I go on, cause not many seem to reply after I've had my say ... but I'm still around

lilsmum · 27/11/2004 19:35

i am a first time mum and learning along the way, i do post quite alot on here bout stuff to do with dd (10 mth) and check to see if anyone has replied and never seem to get any advice i thought that this is what this site was about not trivial crap.. sorry but it just does my head in!!

I know what you mean Lilsmum, and I remember getting into a thread early on about how cliquey the site was. When I was new on here I used to think people were ignoring me. However, I don't post as much as I used to and when I do post I've defo had replies. Just stick with it. I think people tend to converse with the people they have seen around for a while, that's all.

jampot · 27/11/2004 19:33

hello lilsmum - it happens to me too - in fact i think it probably happens to a lot of people.

hercules · 27/11/2004 19:33

What I mean is if the people around at that time have something to add to your thread.

hercules · 27/11/2004 19:32

It depends who is around at the time and the subject.

joash · 27/11/2004 19:32

Don't go, what've you posted. I'll talk to you for a few mins, then gotta cook dinnre.
