Bold and italics

We are thinking of letting members add bold and italics to messages for emphasis. Being of the old school I don't wholeheartedly approve of such new-fangl ednesses, but hmm... Anyway, I figured we'd use bold section and italic section for italics (too much WordPerfect reveal codes in my youth). Anyone have any better ideas?
Of course, they'd display as bold and italic in the message.

I don't know, but I'd prefer italics to underline or bold!

vict17 · 11/11/2004 08:31

Do you think they decided to not bother with italics as people might not know when to use bold or italics?

WigWamBam · 11/11/2004 08:27

Tech? What's happened to our italics?

WigWamBam · 11/11/2004 08:22

You can't get italics either then, vict?

vict17 · 11/11/2004 08:22

/italics/ didn't work for me either

vict17 · 11/11/2004 08:21

hello hello /hello/

WigWamBam · 11/11/2004 08:19

Why can't I make /italics/ work?

Bold is fine, so is underscore, but /italics/ doesn't work!

Tinker · 10/11/2004 23:33

I am very excited about this. Trouble is, I'll angst about whether when I use bold it would be more appropriate to use italics

spacemonkey · 10/11/2004 23:29

mm i think there is a problem with links now

spacemonkey · 10/11/2004 23:29

KangaMummy · 10/11/2004 23:10

I have just found that if you do dogs / cats / fish are great without the spaces it does

dogscatsfish are great

makes interesting lists

KateandtheGirls · 10/11/2004 23:09

Really cool!

tech · 10/11/2004 23:00

It should all work now even links next to smileys.

It might still go a bit haywire if there are no spaces when a link follows a smiley. I'll look again. hmm.

JanH · 10/11/2004 22:55
