Go to 'customise talk board', you can opt to have the hide option visible on active convos.

If you mean the one at the end of each thread in active convos, it's now called hide & you have to set your preferences so it shows: Go to customise talk board, 3rd section dow, change 'Put "hide" link on Active Convs?' to yes & save your changes. You will then see hide at the end of each thread title.

Or ther'e a link at the top of the page if you want to hide a thread once it's open.

much beytter when you could just ignore on active convos

imo anyway

You have to open the thread and then select 'hide' next to 'flip'.
