Is mumsnet going crazy or something?

I am fed up everyday of logging on to troll posts. cant something be done to stop this

You will not be able to stop trolls however hard you try. If you make it too damn complicated to register and log on, people won't bother. That means genuine people won't bother - I know I can't be ar$ed to go through long winded registration processes. If it takes too long to do, I don't bother. You just have to accept the trolls and learn to spot them without offending genuine new posters.

no i agree ks. And maybe if you want to change your name for whatever reason, you have to ask the team (or is that too boring?)

I think it does really well actually.
I've been here for well over a yera now and have only seen a few trolls.
Don't usually get sucj=ked in but did today
I think it's usually stamped out pretty quickly and like mumsnet just as it it!

ks, one of the lovely things about mn is that it's so open. I like the spontaneity and the fact that you can have a query answered so quickly, and would hate to see this as a completely moderated site simply because of a few suspect posters.

From 'his' last comment I'd say there's some kind of game going on - largest number of replies in a certain time frame.....! Call me cynical, but don't be surprised if a few more of these crop up...

Agree just ignore the posts. Maybe we should have a code for troll posts e.g. :::::: or something so that newbies will realise it's suspect? I don't know the solution?

Can't moderators be given some kind of 'suspend' rights to at least get a thread out of view as it were until MN can look at it and decide whether to delete or not?

It's very likely to be the same person as the first calpol threads. As has already been said, don't feed the trolls and they soon get bored.

On the positive side, see it as a measure of mumsnet's runaway success that people can be bothered to spend the effort trolling us

I have gone on and tried reasonable responses, and emailed mn, but that is all I can do for now. I have no deletion access. Sorry.

I can only appeal to netters not to post, but it doesn't often work ! I need a big electronic stun gun .

The post has been reported to MN and hopefully they will be checking up on it. Meanwhile I just wish people would stop inciting this poster to print even more dangerous rubbish. The more people respond the more rubbish this poster spouts.
