Should we have a "Mumsnetter of the year" award in Dec ???

Probably still time to organise it... not sure how nominations and voting would take place? What would the categories be?

  • Funniest MN-er
  • Best MN-er in a supporting role
  • Most eloquent poster
  • ?
  • ?
  • ?

Prizes could be awarded at the glamourous christmas party...

Mo2 - if you don't do it then I just might! Think some are very well meaning but a bit TOO concerned about what everyone would think IMHO. In some cases there'll always be someone who gets offended and sometimes you should let them get on with it rather than protect them, IMO.

Galaxy - no problems - as I said I wasn't seriously proposing we do it, it was more a hypothetical scenario.

Interestingly, I hadn't seen WK's thread, which is almost exactly the same idea.
I have to say though, I'm half serious about the "Are MNrs too sensitive & serious" thing - WK - I'm definitely with you on this one....

Not good idea, even as a joke. Some tie ago, someone started a "who would be mumsnet head girl" which some people thought was a popularity contest.

OTOH, I would like to nominate myself for the "Least frequent poster" award.

Actually, I'm not sure I really meant let's do it, so much as let's have a laugh at what the potential categories could be....

I personally am a very competitive person, so love things like this, but can also understand that some people would feel left out...
However I also think a 'nomination' process would allow lots of people to highlight, thank and recognise fellow mumsnetters, which would be a nice thing to do.
