Should we have a "Mumsnetter of the year" award in Dec ???

Probably still time to organise it... not sure how nominations and voting would take place? What would the categories be?

  • Funniest MN-er
  • Best MN-er in a supporting role
  • Most eloquent poster
  • ?
  • ?
  • ?

Prizes could be awarded at the glamourous christmas party...

I remember posting silly titles about what threads we'd start when we had a Gransnet. Does that mean I might get a prize?

I think my favourite so far has been the one about someone's dh/dp buying them a rabbit - and not the fluffy kind!

I haven't used it yet but I know where it is in my bedroom so if I ever get trapped in one day for any reason or develop chronic laziness it will be a godsend!!

Tights on head whilst on phone....I still PMSL when I think of it, hence got know tights left to try it with...their all in the wash!

i think the best thread had to be that chat thread a couple of months ago that had several MNetters rifling the contents of their undy draw and fessing up to how many knickers and bras they owned

does this make me a worryingly disturbed individual that this is my best thread

Can I make a suggestion? Now this isn't my idea, I cribbed it from the Moneysavingexpert.com site, so I'm coping and pasting below the message from there so change the content to suit this site, see what you think:

"I am instituting a new site award. Each month you will be able to nominate a post by a member of the site which you think has been either extremely helpful or useful.

It can be either a general use tip of real resonance, which lots of people have gained from for example 'cancel T-mobile loophole', 'BMI flights cheap', 'free sky channels'

Or a personally useful post where someone has gone way above the call of duty to help out someone else.

Each month I will start a thread where you can nominate threads or post you think I should consider. At the end of the month, I will look through them and make a decision as to that month's winner, who will then receive a cheque for £50 to say thank you."

What do you think? Obviously this is for Carrie, Justine and Rachel to decide!
