ll, yes, it does sound brutal - there is such a long history of soldiers being killed due to stupidity of commanders, stupid unnecessary wars etc - it doesnt make it better, to wrap it up nicely. Which makes it all the more baffling, that you support this system.

Has anyone actually answered my question as to WHY a topic for armed forces families is offensive? A topic to offer support and understanding such as those titled "lone parents" or "gay parents"

fair enough

but you have a distinction here

is a particular war justified

and what about those people who are employed by the country (not 'the government', am tired of that phrase) to do the job of war? and peacekeeping for that matter

Surely this is a debate regarding GOVERNMENT policies, not of whether we are allowed a topic to discuss normal life for us accompanying serving personel.

it is an important distinction. You're having an ethical debate here, so you should be precise after all. Not saying that government policy doesn't influence the judiciary, but as far as I remember they are still separate.
