We're still working out the nuts and bolts of how this will work, but we will be back, hopefully later today, with a cunning plan.
There's certainly a list of names that have been registered and then never used, but there may also be scope for us to look into auctioning names that folks have hankered after... as long as the price is right of course

Will these be names of people who have not used MN for ages? Otherwise how will we know they are not somebody's old namechange?

I think it is a bit like college lockers.
The owners get a mail saying, if you do not use this name in...a month...it's gone.
I guess they will be writing to people who have either never posted or haven't done so for a year or more.

Isn't that going to be incredibly confusing? Would love Suedonim, but don't want to confuse people by suddenly appearing as her IYSWIM? Or is this about unused names, such as Cod hankering after Dogsby?
