C'mon...MN towers doesn'tt run this place purely out of the goodness of their hearts - they need to make money (although I know they have hearts of gold as well!)...its just lunchables, not gin filled sweeties or anything (mind you...)

Parents do buy what their children ask for. Otherwise why do you think they bother advertising to kids. I don't generally buy what dd wants but other parents do, particularly those who are short on time and are looking for something to fill up their dc's.

Harman, I'm pretty much in agreement with you there about MN catering for all...some days I'm hugging lentils like the rest of them but others I just can't be arsed and don't feel too guilty resorting to something a little more convenient...

I actually really like cheese strings.
I have to hide them form my DC's, so they're certainly not a "convenience food". Actully, I'm not even sure it's a food.

Have no problems with it. I never actually look at or even notice the ads to be honest. I just dive straight in the active conversations and be done with it.

MN is a money making website, and this raises money for them. I have no problem with that.

Have actually tasted cheese strongs once. DD had some at a party. They do not resemmble anything like cheese, or any other natural food at all do they?!

So, all those taken in by ads - go on, go and try them! Dare you!

Harman, I see MN as a forum for parents who often seek advice about what's best for them and their kids. IMHO I don't think plastic, salty, pretend cheese is what's best for kids (that's not to say that I haven't used it, 'coz I have occasionally) but I don't think that the overt advocation of it by this site is a particularly great move.

i have no objection to it, the part i object to is them being labelled as new when they have been around aaaages.
