Dear MN
This site should be good, but it is full of people who should be getting help in RL.
Parents or carers should be spending time playing with their children instead of typing rubbish on here.
And then COD and all that stuff. Oh my.
I was touched when I joined and helped in the Xmas appeal and it was well planned.
The receiver has been having a hard time, I know and i was happy to give to anyone to make their Xmas abit brighter.
But, but what pisses me off when they then post about expensive gifts they brought for their kids, things I couldnt afford to give my kids this year. Whats all that about? Just didnt think did they!
One good thing has come out of it, and that is this experience has taught me a good lesson for the New Year and that is to hold those who are your friends and family in RL close to you and stop mucking around and wasting your time with people here who are trying to be funny, put you down or just offer rubbish advice.
Its all too much for a simple mum like me. I wish you all good luck in the future, but im off.
Only stayed 3 months, so take this as my notice of leaving.
I hope you all have a better and Happier New Year especially to those who truly deserve it like martianbishop.
Kind regards

That's better...

Munz · 30/12/2006 15:34

I normally MN when J is sleeping or DH is home playing wiht him/he's in bed - I have MN time DH and J have 'them' time as it were.

are you sure the person you gave to actually brought their presents for xmas? J was given a walker/trike thingy as a present by my nan - I wouldn't have brought it myself for him a cos of money and b cos it's too darn noisey! lol.

ooh and expat - I'm not one to fight but vin deisel's mine! lol. laid claim to him moons ago after loosing nigle harman!

princessJINGLEmelS · 30/12/2006 15:34

Its fab. .
I love the Mutya one best at the moment- hence it being on repeat. I also have another other double cd ( can't remember its name - fast songs on one cd and slow on the other)and the Wham greatest hits so probably have all the songs already ( apart from my Mutya one )

Lucky you going to the concert.!! My friend went too. She said it was brilliant.

myrrhthamoo · 30/12/2006 15:34

Christmas is no more, chez moo...I am going to change my name back.

Lazylou · 30/12/2006 15:28

That CD is a good un' eh?

This year it was really easy to buy for DH as he is a huge George fan and we went to see him on 15th Dec at Wembley. Needless to say most of his Xmas stuff was George related .

Sorry hijack over for now...

princessJINGLEmelS · 30/12/2006 15:25

Lol Custardo!!!!

I'm listening to my new George Micheal 25 cd (pressie) to the Mutya/George duet on repeat while dh is at the Spurs match with his brother( free tickets) and the children are eating sweets and playing 'tents'.

This morning while dh was here we all went in the garden and raked leaves, played on the swing and slide etc. Then dd went to bed and ds did painting then watched Cars (gift)while I cuddled up with him and read my book, 'A tale of two sisters'( another gift) .

I agree with all the people that said mn is 'my time'. I love being able to come on here and do something for me. I'm in the playroom with the children so we're all together. ( Listening to George/Mutya)
I also agree thats its very important for them to play without me sometimes. Yesterday I played Hungry frogs, tumbling chimps, ludo - twice, fuzzy felt, and I'm all gamed out!!

Glassofwine · 30/12/2006 15:23

So, can all of you honestly say there haven't been times when you really ought to have been doing something with your lo's, but were MNing?

I know I have, but if that's what keeps me sane, then in the long run it's better for the children.

Sounds to me like the OP was hurt about the Xmas appeal, which I think is understandable.

misdee · 30/12/2006 15:16

god i feel paranoid.

Lazylou · 30/12/2006 15:13

sorry tiredemma!

Lazylou · 30/12/2006 15:12

lmao tiredmamma!

tiredemma · 30/12/2006 14:51

Freckle · 30/12/2006 14:45

Off point here, but what is your resolution, Beety??

BeetrootsResolution · 30/12/2006 14:42

fizzy wine sounds the order of the day.

founces are boring especially when they are incognito

FLAMEinEckItsYuleAgain · 30/12/2006 14:41

You've done better than me Custy... mine's eatin smarties.

QuootiepieTheNewYearsAss · 30/12/2006 14:35

I've said it before, I'll say it again... sometimes it's just a case of Jeremy Kyle Vs Mumsnet.

Tortington · 30/12/2006 14:35

god i have done fuck all

kids watching tv.
dh still in bed.

i managed to do beans on toast. couldnt even find can openeer - so stabbed the beans.

erm.

i'm exausted.

ComeOyeFaithfulVeneer · 30/12/2006 14:33

I don't consider this a waste of time at all. Much better than watching utter drivel on tv. My ds is asleep upstairs, dd at grandmother's house and dh at the football. I have sorted the garden shed done 2 loads of laundry and prepared 3 desserts for tomorrow nights dinner party. This is my "me time" and this is how I enjoy spending it.

motherinfurrierfestivefrock · 30/12/2006 14:31

I have re-dyed my hair and drunk some fizzy wine and eaten lunch cooked by DP in betweeen his bouts of t'ai chi. It has been quite a good day, really.

SmileysPeople · 30/12/2006 14:30

Well I've completed half a novel today, eaten chip buttties and chocoalte cake and been MNetting whilst kids are watching God knows what on TV.
So maybe she means me.

(really I don't think it was rational post that requires lots of indigation, just an inappropriate expresssion of hurt feelings)

nutcracker · 30/12/2006 14:26

My kids are (now don't faint), out with Xp. Only popped to the shop mind but the house is empty and I have Take That on rather loud

And yes I have given xp my shopping list, i'll be damned if i'm going to let him go to the shop without him doing my shopping for me.

SherlockLGJ · 30/12/2006 14:23

I have done two laundry loads, tidied out the freezer, sorted out meals for the next few days, washed and polished the parquat[sp] flooring in the hall, hoovered the ground floor of the house, cooked lunch for DS. I am just about to go and decale the shower doors, I sat down for 5 minutes with a cup of tea and a piece of toast. Is that Ok ???

Oh and it was my turn for a lie-in and I did not wake up, until 11.30. Should I have dragged my exhausted body out of bed to play with my DS or should I presume that my DH is more than capable of minding his child.

The same applies to people MNing, it is their downtime, and with broadband you can flit in and flit out.

Sorry you didn't like us, but we were all born with free will, and you are quite within your rights to leave. I am not so sure as to whether you are within your rights to make sweeping judgments about people you have never met.

motherinfurrierfestivefrock · 30/12/2006 14:11

I find MN extremely soft-centred, actually.

PeachysaysBlwyddynNewyddDda · 30/12/2006 14:09

YOu don't have be thick skinned to be on MN, I'm not at all- but I have grown to learn that others are harsher than me, and when to walk away from threads or just not get involved. Its also toughened me just a little (do I really need to get so upset about what someone I'll never meet thinks?)

My first few attempts at MN (back when it started- goodness Ia m OLD) were abandoned when my feelings were hurt- I decided it was worth returning to each time however, and am glad that I did.

PeachysaysBlwyddynNewyddDda · 30/12/2006 14:05

Well i sure work hard NOT to type rubbish on here.

My DH is playing with my kids thank you, being away from home living this is my respite.

But MN isn't for everyone so best wishes and I hope good luck follows you
