And the first ad I saw was this prostrate woman in bondage gear wtaf? Is this a mistake, and is there a way to report it, or is this normal for mumsnet?

Thanks Becca. It's not the worst there's ever been but still not needed.

LoloKazolo · 25/06/2015 19:23

Huzzah! Thanks MN!

Hi cozie - they've now blocked the ad. It might take a couple of hours to take effect. Please do shout if you spot it again.

BeccaMumsnet · 25/06/2015 16:46

Hi cozie - we'll check back in with them and see what's going on. Sorry about this.

cozietoesie · 24/06/2015 16:11

Just got Bondage Girl up again so I'm guessing that Tech haven't found it?

cozietoesie · 22/06/2015 21:05

Oh Heck - is it a Synth ?

cozietoesie · 22/06/2015 21:02

Is it actually a real woman? Looks a little ......plastic......to me.

Poofus · 22/06/2015 20:21

What? Bondage lady is an advert for vitamins?? I take my multi-vit daily but it thankfully hasn't turned me into that yet.

BeccaMumsnet · 22/06/2015 15:43

Hi everyone - apologies for the later than planned update.
Our Tech team and trying to locate the ad and will block when they've found it.

AuntieStella · 22/06/2015 06:23

I've just got it!

On the side bit (ie same place as OP's screen shot; under Mumsnet Insight box, desktop site via safari).

It's for snake oil a miraculously rejuvenating vitamin supplement.

DawnMumsnet · 21/06/2015 23:01

Hi Lolo,

Sorry we're a bit late to the party - it's been One Of Those Weekends on the site and everything's taking a bit longer than usual to sort.

As for your screenshot, that's an ad and a half! Blush

We'll get our Tech team to check it out and will report back in the morning.

tribpot · 20/06/2015 19:08

Thanks Lolo.

LoloKazolo · 20/06/2015 19:00

x-post, Baby Grin We've clearly been reading the same thread.

I was anxious to know if I was being slandered outrageously! I concluded I would be quite happy looking like Janice Battersby were I aged 57. (She just looks like a normal woman with short hair to me.)

UBlock Origin is the best for Chrome IMO. Though I have switched to Firefox for my primary as Chrome is so slow. (And getting increasingly dodge.)

BabyGanoush · 20/06/2015 18:52

You googled Janice Batterby's haircut?

LOL Grin

You been hanging around on a picy-cut discussion recently Wink

tribpot · 20/06/2015 18:45

Which Adblocker are people using? I turned mine off because the performance in Chrome was shocking (mind you, by and large the performance of Chrome just is shocking).

BIWI · 20/06/2015 18:44

I'll keep Adblocker turned on then!

tribpot · 20/06/2015 18:42

I've never been more pleased that my ad is for a jar of Hellmann's. In fact I might buy a jar just to say thank you for saving me from that abomination.

Pipbin · 20/06/2015 18:33

I too think it is linked to the C4 series "Humans' about human like robots. The 'bondage gear' looks like joints in an articulated doll to me.
They were doing viral advertising for it.

cozietoesie · 20/06/2015 18:32

There was a spate of these about a year or so ago so hopefully MNHQ will see this thread and take action - I don't think it's anything to do with your browsing history, just someone trying to sneak in a (lucrative) naughty.

LoloKazolo · 20/06/2015 18:26

lol Furball

And oh, I could report this thread I suppose? I did look in Contact us but I didn't see, you know... it wasn't clear to me that that was the way to go. (Also there's no point attaching screenshots to emails to companies as they are almost always stripped out.)

OP posts:
Furball · 20/06/2015 18:10

I read your list as the Fondling Museum and thought no wonder you get ad's like that Grin

RepeatAdNauseum · 20/06/2015 18:10

Edith - Yes to linked devices, theoretically no to private browsing because that shouldn't leave any cookies for the ad to "use".

Lolo - Mumsnet can report it as inappropriate so it won't get shown on the site again. Hopefully they'll see this!

LoloKazolo · 20/06/2015 18:09

It was him that did the voice for Darth Maul and it is definitely spelled cz, everyone, not ch, by the way. Just in case you are all too scared to google now. It's definitely spelled cz! Grin

EdithWeston · 20/06/2015 18:04

I was wondering what the ad is actually for.

Is it connected to Humans? Because if so searching actors might be enough to place it.

Also, I was wondering if this sort of ad finder responds to pages viewed in private browsing, or on linked devices?
