MN making safari crash?

DishwasherDogs · 17/03/2015 10:27

Every time I have been on Mn this morning it keeps crashing safari.
It doesn't do it on any other website.
I'm using an iPad.
Any ideas what's going on or how I can fix it?

The nature of this problem is bizarre. When this first started I was thrown out of Mumsnet completely and had to re enter via my browser. Now it's not doing that, it throws me out but Mumsnet still appears as one of my pages open. It's not doing it constantly just every 3 or 4 pages, inconsistently, sometime when I try and go back to active conversations from a thread, sometimes when selecting a topic but not consistently.
Only happening on Mumsnet, I find the response to update the operating system rather odd, if that's the solution I think you may lose a lot of users as some can't do this. I'm going to check back in a few days and see whether it's fixed.

Still crashing. About 5 times in last few minutes. All other websites are fine. Really getting fed up with it now!

SilkandSteel · 19/03/2015 22:17

Worse than ever today, and like everyone else, ONLY Mumsnet, every other website is working fine. An absolute copout Becca to suggest we google to look for any issues

NorksAreMessy · 19/03/2015 21:34

Me too
:(

EllenJanesthickerknickers · 19/03/2015 21:10

My really old iOS 5.1.1 is working fine. My nice new iOS 8 is crashing.

EllenJanesthickerknickers · 19/03/2015 21:07

Mine is crashing on my nice new iPad mini, but not on my old hand cranked iPad. Off to check iOS version.

Teeb · 19/03/2015 20:56

Continuously crashing for me here on chrome on ipad.

A bit miffed about the passive aggressive message from tech.

BlackeyedPetitsPois · 19/03/2015 20:46

Mine keeps crashing too, been doing it all week. Only on iPad and only mumsnet.

FunMitFlags · 19/03/2015 20:34

iTunes won't let me update my iPad mini to IOS 8 because there apparently isn't enough storage space. I've taken off all but the essentials and it still isn't enough.

Methe · 19/03/2015 20:21

Just out of interest Pesto.. Why wouldn't you want to upgrade?

BsshBosh · 19/03/2015 20:19

Yes, the update to iOS 8.2 has resolved all issues for me. But that doesn't help those who can't or prefer not to upgrade. A site must be backwards compatible - it's basic good user experience practice. But I am sure the MN techs are work on it...

PestoSnowissimos · 19/03/2015 20:17

But some of don't want to update to IOS 8

Methe · 19/03/2015 20:08

iOS update that is.

Methe · 19/03/2015 20:08

Mine was terrible untill I installed the most recent update. It hasn't done it once since.

Baddz · 19/03/2015 20:02

It is still happening and only with Mumsnet and only on my IPad.
All other websites are working fine.
It is a joke that it has been suggested we google the problem ourselves when this is the only site that we are all having problems with.

NeedCoffeeToFunction · 19/03/2015 17:43

crashing constantly on mumsnet. no problems on any other website.

OwlCapone · 19/03/2015 17:43

Advanced search - crash
Threads I'm on - crash crash crash

Ravelry - perfectly fine.

SauvignonBlanche · 19/03/2015 17:11

Mines been crashing for a few days now, only on mumsnet active convos

It's not just on Active, I tried not using that after seeing the above comment but it's still happening.

Jellyrollquiltmom · 19/03/2015 17:07

Ditto ,worse than ever today.

SauvignonBlanche · 19/03/2015 17:00

It's STILL happening, only on MN and only on my iPad with Safari.

CharityD · 19/03/2015 16:51

Mumsnet is the only site crashing, on my iPad...

ICantDecideOnAUsername · 19/03/2015 16:47

Mine doesn't crash on either macbook or iphone but every so often my macbook will say that Mumsnet.com doesn't exist and won't load for several hours (or is that what you mean by crashing?!) Did lose a post on my phone the other day but it happens.
