She delivered her baby at 28 weeks-ish ... I can't find her thread to see how her and baby are doing :( I posted on it, but can't see it in 'im on' and when I do a search it looks like it might have been deleted?

Can't stop thinking about this lady bless her! Can anyone help?

I am really shocked by this one. I didn't post but read the thread and as I am currently sitting on a post natal ward with my own Prom and Prem baby I am sickened that anyone would lie about something like this. What is wrong with people?!

afreshstartplease · 28/12/2014 06:56

What a shocking thing to do

ArsenicStew · 28/12/2014 06:33

So the photos of the baby in SCBU were appropriated?
Sheesh.

imip · 28/12/2014 06:32

Heartbreaking....

I could not go near that thread as I lost my first dd at 26 weeks for the same reason.y heart would break every time I saw the thread in active convos. Glad I didn't invest time and heart ache in that thread.

Pprom and prematurity have been used as by trolls several times over the years. Some people have no shame :(

I didn't follow the thread but trolling about prem babies is a "favourite" sadly. Years ago I found my own experiences - written on MN as a coping mechanism C&P'd into someone else's sick fantasy.

herroyal I'm sorry for the loss of your baby -and I hope you are getting the support you need.

HerRoyalNotness · 28/12/2014 03:57

I wondered about it too, as I had posted as was going through similar at the same time

I wonder if mumsnet could shed light on this.

I learnt to crochet as a means to take my mind off the death of my DD and posted a blanket to the hospitalI made for Nobblys DS to brighten up his crib. I sincerely hope she wasn't a troll.

Mouldypineapple · 28/12/2014 01:12

All sounds a bit harsh. I was following that one too. Is it not more likely she felt she'd revealed too much personal information then got worried? I'd like to think so.
If it was genuine, hope all is ok there.

WannaBe · 28/12/2014 01:06

They do it because they can, because it gains them attention.

The point you were due to visit would probably have been when the baby took a turn for the worse and died. (Hmm)

2015 · 28/12/2014 01:05

There are loads and loads of troll threads about at the moment. It's really irritating.

RainbowInACloud · 28/12/2014 01:03

Didn't a MN actually visit her or am I confusing that with another thread?

Allisgood1 · 28/12/2014 00:57

WTF?! I completely believed her.

SoonToBeSix · 28/12/2014 00:48

That's really upsetting I was planning on visiting her as she said she was at my local hospital.
Why do people troll about prem babies etc ? I don't understand.

WannaBe · 28/12/2014 00:44

there have been multiple threads about prem births on here over the years. The vast majority have been trolls iirc.

ouryve · 28/12/2014 00:37

I've known of trols who, within the space of a couple of years have had several stillborn premature babies with heat defects (all under different user names, of course, and sometimes several at the same time, with different names, posted about on different forums) and have done things like lifting birth stories word for word from people who really have been through the wringer.

If the story has been nabbed from elsewhere, of course elements of it will seem plausible.

northernlurker · 28/12/2014 00:36

The sad fact is that people do troll about the very saddest things and topics such as prem birth are SO easy to troll about because of the weight of info available on line. Anybody can sound like an expert with a bit of effort and anybody who's been in that situation would find such threads hard to ignore.

HollyJollyDillydolly · 28/12/2014 00:35

I was wondering what happened to the mum and baby too :(

usualsuspect333 · 28/12/2014 00:31

I read that thread.it had troll written all over it.

MsRyanGosling · 28/12/2014 00:31

It was only a small part of her notes, to show a UTI was detailed, which she thought was the or part of the reason she went into early labour. It went untreated, or not treated quickly enough IIRC.

Perhaps a legal reason to why the thread was pulled, she was thinking about making a complaint.

WannaBe · 28/12/2014 00:27

Anyone can lift a picture from the internet and claim it as their own. A picture means nothing and wtf would someone post their maternity notes? Hmm

There have been trolls in the past who have posted pictures of their babies only for them to be outed as someone recognised the pictures from news stories online. One even had a picture of her dead twins on her fb profile and all over bereavement sites on the internet. for months. until someone challenged her and she finally admitted to having made it up even though mn had banned her months previously for being a troll.

YvesJutteau · 28/12/2014 00:23

I have never read the thread you mention, but there have been trolls in the past (here and elsewhere) who have used other people's photos to support a fake story.

divingoffthebalcony · 27/12/2014 23:29

Well, in theory anyone can get hold of photos of notes and a baby...

BUT I find it hard to believe she wasn't genuine. I was actually worried that something terrible had happened and she asked for the thread to be deleted.

ThisFenceIsComfy · 27/12/2014 23:25

Can't have been a troll. Maternity notes, pictures of newborn. Must have been a privacy concern of the OP I imagine
