She delivered her baby at 28 weeks-ish ... I can't find her thread to see how her and baby are doing :( I posted on it, but can't see it in 'im on' and when I do a search it looks like it might have been deleted?

Can't stop thinking about this lady bless her! Can anyone help?

There's no way it's a coincidence.

I also highly doubt a friend or neighbour was retelling this girl's story for attention. I followed the thread and it was full of detail because she was in hospital having lots of scans, pools of fluid being checked etc.

I think it's more likely that MN royally screwed this one up. There's no way their troll hunting techniques are completely failsafe.

However, this looks like a major fuck up and support was withdrawn from a woman when she needed it most. Not only that, but she was branded a liar. That's awful, and so I think MN really need to return to this thread for a discussion.

DownWithThisTypeOfThing · 31/07/2015 10:18

Agree with northern lurked it's possible that although the situation was real, the poster wasn't the person it was happening to? Just had a memory of someone I used to work with and a particularly awful situation where there was a bit of, I don't know, "vicarious grieving" going on. Don't want to go into too much detail, but it is a possibility.

Tough calls for MNHQ - so many dubious threads have been left to stand that they must have had good reasons to pull, but such fine margins aren't they?

Sad
lunar1 · 31/07/2015 10:13

I followed the thread and was shocked when it was pulled. The whole thing is really upsetting.

StillinShockAhhhhhhh · 31/07/2015 10:06

I thought that to three, I still really struggling to find anything to say she was a troll Blush

Threesoundslikealot · 31/07/2015 08:09

Am I the only one who thinks the poor woman was shown posting on MN during labour? When she grinned at her husband and showed him her phone? It looked like MN to me.

Allstoppedup · 31/07/2015 07:50

Yeah, I have to hope that it was someone close but not directly involved that was posting and the MN were right in their actions in this particular case. Sad

Sixweekstowait · 31/07/2015 07:38

Allstop- it really does beggar belief that it's not the same person doesn't it? I remember the thread very well and was struck by the way she expressed herself. Seeing her now on OBEM it all fitted. I hope mnhq can sort it out and if they were wrong do something about it like a donation to an appropriate charity - involve her in the choice if she's willing. I know coincidences happen but I do keep thinking about this although I appreciate the damage untrue threads can cause

Luciferbox · 31/07/2015 07:16

Just spotted this, I hope mnhq come back with some answers.

Allstoppedup · 31/07/2015 07:16

stillin Yes, my nephew was born on the the 27th Nov. That's almost what has sealed it in my mind as being too much of a coincidence. Sad

Who else could it be? Someone from the television show?

I hope it wasn't her.

Northernlurker · 30/07/2015 22:38

The fact that a situation in RL is similar or even identical to one described on this site does not mean that it's the RL protagonists who are posting.

PotOfYoghurt · 30/07/2015 22:37

What a coincidental set of events, if that is indeed what it is.

That poor family.

lottiesatitagain · 30/07/2015 22:29

Poor girl. Hope she hadn't read this thread. Nobbly Flowers

birdbrain21 · 30/07/2015 22:18

Sorry just marking my place to see if mnhq report back. I was really sad when the thread got deleted and just cried through lasnights episode, such a brave couple!

BifsWif · 30/07/2015 22:13

Reading these updates has made my blood run cold. I didn't see OBEM, but I hope and pray support wasn't taken from that poor girl when she needed it.

Signoritawhocansway · 30/07/2015 21:43

So sad. Hope we can get to the bottom of it. As a preemie parent, I contribute to the preemie threads. Would be awful if the thread was pulled when she needed support. It was deffo n wales and liverpool, and she was young.

StillinShockAhhhhhhh · 30/07/2015 21:32

The Ollie on obem was born 27th November if that helps?

Sixweekstowait · 30/07/2015 20:53

Allstopp- because of your nephew, you rember the date of the birth of nobbly's baby - was that the same as the baby in OBEM?

AllThatGlistens · 30/07/2015 20:46

Oh bloody hell I watched that episode last night Sad

StillinShockAhhhhhhh · 30/07/2015 20:42

I've spent all day trying to convince myself it's coincidence but I just end up convincing myself more and more that it's her Sad

ToadsJustFellFromTheSky · 30/07/2015 20:33

I didn't see the original thread but these updates are just awful Sad.

I really do hope it's not the same person and it's just a huge coincidence.

MimsyBorogroves · 30/07/2015 19:46

Oh Sad

Allstoppedup · 30/07/2015 19:26

I am really upset that there is a possibility that nobbly was genuine and going through such an awful time only to be branded a liar. Nobbly's Ollie was born on the same day as my nephew (who was also premature but healthy) and I was really saddened and thought about the OP quite a lot at the time.

Like other PP I posted regularly on her thread and was genuinely upset when it got pulled under suspicious circumstances. It really made me second guess a lot of posters and I even discussed it in RL with my DP as I was so shocked that someone could do something like that.

I do hope that in this case it is just an awful coincidence and that as others have said, support was not withdrawn from someone who needed it.

My thoughts are with Ollie's family regardless of what actually happened with the MN thread.
